A recently released Quantus Insights poll has jolted Ohio's political class, showing Democrat Amy Acton narrowly leading Ramaswamy, 45.9% to 44.9%.
Ramaswamy built his career largely in the corporate and national political arenas. Ramaswamy's political identity, forged during his 2024 presidential campaign, may be difficult to translate into a statewide coalition.

He won’t win and the GOP needs to replace him with a serious candidate
I hope so. A flash talking opportunist as leader can do a lot of damage in even one term.
Will he get past the voters like the Kenyan or will he end up another John Edwards?
It’s teachable. Win a couple elections before going for high office. Reagan didn’t have to. He had a long history of commentating and everyone knew where he stood.
I’ve worked with literally hundreds of Indians over the years. All to a tee - they BS with the best of them. Its all about perception, power politics, and doing things behind others backs to build and keep that power. Unfortunately that is part of their work culture. We do not need someone like that as governor or President. Indian culture is a bad business culture. Plus, hispanic and asian americans have contributed much much more for a much much longer time to the growth and success of our nation thatn Indians ever will. We should be pushing them as candidates instead. Vivek doesn’t have the real talent to be a successful political leader. He is all perception. He is the kind of guy you work with who “copy and paste” others work and claims it as his own to climb up the ladder. We don’t need that type of guy again. We’ve already had too many GOP presidents like that, e.g. the fungus infected bushes.
I'm in Ohio. I remember her spitting "facts" in March 2020 that, by the end of April at the very latest, were exposed as wildly false. She never took accountability or adjusted her recommendations to take into account the actual facts.
Queen of the Covid fascists.

From 2019:
"The Dayton area’s last abortion clinic is back in business.
Ohio Health Director Amy Acton granted an operating license to Women’s Med Center, allowing the clinic to resume surgical abortions."
Ramaswamy is legitimately a smart, successful guy. But he suffers from the same central flaw as a lot of guys like him - he is exceptionally arrogant, and as a result comes up with stupid ideas and shoots off his mouth like a know-it-all. Most people have a reflexive dislike of people like that.
Americans are too stupid to be techies but too smart to vote for this huckster.
Vivek is just another Kash
I will be amazed if Ohio voters choose Amy Acton after the covid fiasco. She became the face of lockdowns and masks in this state. It’s not a stigma that I think she can overcome
We may have squandered the seat. He could win by a hair like DeSantis did and the prove he’s worthy. Ohio may be just red enough to carry him past the finish line. If he loses it may suggest you gotta be a Kasich/DeWine politician to run there.
If he could get elected Vivek might make a good Governor but he’s not a great candidate. He comes across as a car salesman.
I agree with your assessment of Vivek. Seriously considering going third party in the fall election.
I’ve already said I’m not voting for him in the primary due to his immigration stance alone.
As of Feb this was the current list of governor candidates:
Former Ohio Department of Health director Dr. Amy Acton is running as a Democratic candidate with David Pepper, former chair of the Ohio Democrats, as her running mate.
Entrepreneur and 2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is running as a Republican with Ohio Senate President Rob McColley as his running mate.
Casey Putsch, founder of the nonprofit Genius Garage car charity, is running as a Republican with Kimberly Georgeton as his running mate.
Appalachian businesswoman Heather Hill is running as a Republican with Stuart Moats as her running mate.
Entrepreneur Renea Turner is running as a Republican with Jalen Turner as her running mate. She made headlines in 2020 after being accused of attempting a citizen’s arrest of Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.
Running under the Libertarian banner, a former Honda worker, Donald Kissick, is running with James Mills as his running mate.
I’m going for Casey Putsch currently, myself.
Bring back Jim Rhodes!
**I agree with your assessment of Vivek. Seriously considering going third party in the fall election.**
Too late and we’re stuck with him unless someone pulls a rabbit out of a hat. A bad showing could put the senate seate in jeopardy as the former rat senator-Scott-wants back in. Don’t forget the libertarians screwing us over.
No, not at all.
What it “looks like” is that, typical of EVERY OH election in the last 10 years, the Hoax Polling overstates Ds by 4-8 points.
They UNDERSTATED Vance by 4; UNDERSTATED TRUMP in 2024 by 8; UNDERSTATED TRUMP in 2016 by 8.
I think he’s pretty safe.
