Fifth grade teacher suspended for telling students they were 'acting like monkeys in a zoo'

The unidentified teacher was suspended with pay after making the comment on February 24 as outraged parents fumed to the Merrillville School Board.

'This is what he thinks about our kids,' one parent said at the Tuesday board meeting. 'I'm not getting over this... now we see this coming from the president also.'

Parents in the school district angrily voiced their complaints at the board meeting, as the Gary branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has launched an investigation, the Chicago Tribune reported.

It is time to end the charade of public education. All education should be private. It’s the only way to regain control of discipline and create effective educational environments. Taxpayer funded “Common schools” and Horace Mann can go straight to hell, where they came from.

Agreed. There is no parenting going on, I think largely because there is no family in which these kids are being raised. Parenting requires a Mom and a Dad. We’re now three or four generations into a world where for most of these ‘students’ a Father exists only as a concept.

Also, I remember adults often referring to us little kids as monkeys back in the early 1960’s. We kinda liked it. Things are different now, it seems...

But, really, the biggest problem is the quality of parents. They don’t raise their children right, they get in the way of a decent education, they won’t allow discipline at home or in the schools. We need better parents in this country.

They were educated in government schools. Then they went to the State U. And they grew up watching the Simpsons. The same show where Homer Simpson's a moron. The problem with watching the show is that it is propaganda. The American father is an idiot.

When I was a kid, kids (white) were called monkeys all the time. Any rambunctious or mischievous child was called a “monkey.” There were even “monkey bars” on the playground.

I read a news story about some cops who were snacking on their break, next to their cop car, and they were eating bananas. Some blacks nearby took offense, thought the cops were obviously saying that they were monkeys, and they filed a complaint. The police department apologized all over the place and started a new rule that their cops were no longer allowed to eat bananas. How long before bananas are banned or we have to start referring to monkeys as “the M word”?

This whole nationwide disciplinary morass is due to the parents who were sucked in by the ear-tickling theories of the pediatrist-psychologist Dr. Benjamin Spock, influencing them to forsake the early and strong discipline necessary to bring children into a self-controlled fruitful responsible adulthood.

Spock's basis for his logic, though unadvertised, is essentially antiGod and therefore antibiblical and antichristian, which fits seamlessly with John Dewey's Marxist/progressive humanist reform of the American public education system, including colleges, universities, theological seminaries, to lead them away from Biblical golden truths into the trackless wasteland of human reasoning without God's gracious merciful counsels.

Thus the irresponsible parents with children freed from accountability for their actions, are tormenting the child-minders of the immoral anarchical antichristian public educational agencies, who are left without supportive rules and viabto effectively institute accountability in oppositionally defiant children made so by the system.

The only answer that works is the children, home-schooled trained by parents who have imposed a rules-based environment, willing to apply corporal punishment if resistance to the behavior escalates to that level of chastening required for obedience to authority.
