In the movie Tombstone, after the famous shootout at the OK Corral, bad-guy Johnny Ringo went looking for Wyatt Earp. Ringo was going to kill him. Instead, Val Kilmer, playing the part of Doc Holliday and friend of Wyatt, met Ringo and delivered the movie’s most famous line: “I’m your huckleberry.” The phrase “I’m you huckleberry” was 19th-century slang for “I’m the guy you’re looking for,” “I’m your man,” or “Bring it on.” It was a macho, braggadocious expression used when confronting an adversary.
Macon, Georgia has lots of huckleberries. That’s unfortunate, because when two huckleberries meet, bad things usually happen. That’s exactly what occurred last week in the hoods of Macon. Over several days’ time, there were eight, maybe nine, shootings that left five dead and another nine injured.
The shootouts in and around Macon’s OK Corral (the Unionville neighborhood) began Saturday, Feb 21, at 12:30 A.M. (one man shot). Then Shaviz Adams was shot and killed at 6:58 P.M., and at 7:24 P.M., another man was shot. The day ended with three people shot at 11:59 P.M.; one victim was only seven years old.
Sunday picked up where Saturday left off. At 1:29 A.M., a seventeen-year-old male was shot and injured. Then the serious huckleberries came out at 3:35 A.M., on Moseley Ave, and three men were blasted into eternity. That was followed by a 6:30 A.M. shooting that left two more wounded. The weekend’s final shooting victim was a 55-year-old woman, shot at 2:37 P.M.
However, the huckleberries weren’t finished. On Wednesday, in south Macon, a 45-year-old man was shot and killed. If you’re counting, that’s five dead and nine wounded in nine separate shootings, all in a city of 155,000.
Fortunately, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) does good work apprehending the perps.

The author of this piece is on the right side, but also rather naïve.
Exactly.
About 2/3rds of blacks are fine upstanding American citizens. But while walking down the street, you can’t tell which are affected by the violent mind virus.
So one takes to calculating probabilities. A knot of young black men slovenly dressed? Turn around! A well trimmed 50 year old black guy at grocery store after work? No problem! You can’t afford to be wrong very many times.
Sub-Sahara Africa has no “crackers” or any “redneck” Scots-Irish culture aka “poor Southern Whites” to blame. Sowell’s theory is quite a stretch.
Also stay away from skinheads and biker gangs.
It’s common sense.
Ironic that most crime against blacks is committed by other blacks.
They all have a dysfunctional family life and incredibly poor friendships with good people.
We see it as a race issue, but it is a cultural issue within the black community.
This corrupts others around it, as well, so it is bigger than people who are physically black, so the race issue spirals out because of a poor community situation with missing family elements and missing accountability of those within.
The fact is 95% of Afro Heritage citizens vote democratic.
That fact disqualifies them from being upstanding American Citizens.
Being Black is not a qualifier for being an upstanding citizen
Sadly, that is often the case that these guys are fatherless.
But that’s one of the things we’re not allowed to talk about in this country.
Remember how Dan Quayle was crucified for touching on these issues?
So we rarely hear anyone in public life, talk about how it’s a problem for so many children to not have fathers in the home.
And blacks wonder why sundown towns are so quiet at night..... under 16 curfew at 10 pm would fix a lot of problems.
Low IQ primal savages.
Below average pre frontal cortex. They are behind on the evolutionary tree.
Only race who can’t master English and speaks with an accent even though they are not bilingual. I used to think it was cultural, but it’s not.
Crime is instinctual. Violence the method.

Statistics aren’t racist, neither is the truth.
It’s a fools errand to rationalize their excuses and suicidal to justify them.

Sowell stresses that this is **not** about race being the cause—similar patterns appear across groups worldwide when they inherit or adopt counterproductive cultures.
‘The Thomas Sowell Reader’ is on my nightstand. It should be required reading for every American Citizen. He is a jewel.
That’s what the writer concluded: lack of fathers in homes. Fathers can teach young’uns about the finality of fatality.

Wouldn't that be a punny turnaround if there's a photo out there of the Messiah holding a few huckleberries in the palm of his hand? It's only an anachronism for those who can't tell time.
I love huckleberries. My yard is covered in them. Last year they brightened up so much in the Fall that it was like burning bushes everywhere.

I’ve never been a hothead, tough guy or brawler - but if someone spits on me, then yes, I’m very likely to get physical with them. Being spit on is the ultimate form of contempt. Speaking for myself, I would not let that pass.
Thank LBJ and his commiecrats. This is his “Great Society.”
We adults are having a discussion here about the causes and potential solutions to massive rates of black violence.
