Donald Trump faced-off in-person with Supreme Court justices who ruled against his tariffs last week.
The four justices who attended his State of the Union address were forced to remain stoned-faced as the president berated them in front of a joint session of Congress, administration officials – and the world.
The president tore into the decision right after sharing cordial handshakes with the four justices seated in the front row of his State of the Union address on Capitol Hill on Tuesday.
'Just four days ago, an unfortunate ruling from the United States Supreme Court. Oh, very unfortunate ruling,' Trump lamented.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett kept straight faces during the berating despite both Republican-appointed justices joining all liberal justices in ruling against Trump's sweeping tariff policies.
Barack Obama-appointed Justice Elena Kagan and Trump-appointed Justice Brett Kavanaugh were also in the audience on Tuesday.
Trump insisted that, despite the 6-3 ruling, most countries and businesses have decided to keep the deals they negotiated with the US.
He said that he could make the tariffs even worse if he wanted to and threatened to do so at a press conference last week.
'His expression as he walked past the judges looked especially somber,' body language expert Judi James told the Daily Mail, noting a 'fading, high-pitched vocal tone of a 'disappointed' headmaster' as he 'roasted' the justices.
James said that the faces of the justices 'were held in expressionless close-up by the camera, although they appeared keen to return the eye contact from the stage.'

I watched Trump shake Kavanaugh’s hand then walk right past Amy Coney Barrett.

Yup... didn’t even acknowledge her presence in any way.
“One of his biggest screw ups ever.”
Yep, the biggest red flag was she’s a woman, and women’s first instinct is to rely on emotions in their decisions. And that’s the last thing you want in a justice. And we have 4 of them in there now!
Reagan was the first to make that mistake and it bit him in the a**.
Lol. Is it that if you tell us the “cardinal rule” you’ll have to kill us?
“”Is it that if you tell us the “cardinal rule” you’ll have to kill us?””
Evidently. Amazing how free people are with words until backed into a corner to EXPLAIN their words...then they suddenly find something else to do OR someone else to bother!
Lol. As Rush always said, words mean things!
With the exception of Lady Margaret, I wouldn’t trust a single one.
” As we all know, lucrative book deals are the modern tool used to launder bribe money to corrupt politicians “
Oh No, say it isn’t so.
Don’t you wish you could follow the money trail of these “book advances”. All of this money is probably not coming from the publishing houses.
You will see the very same cabal of 6 rule in favor of birthright citizenship. Stand-by.
Interesting that Roberts somehow rationalized obama care, the ACA, as NOT A TAX and yet somehow the tariffs have become a tax. Conveniently convoluted logic. He is a man for the moment and ACB is is arse hole buddy now.
Yep! Iron ladies are few and far between.
Never appoint another woman to the court. They are totally brainwashed and disloyal.
Never appoint any woman to any court.
So #NeverTrump of you, so GOPe, so very DeSantis.
“The President Picks Supreme Court Justices!”
Ah yes, the fairy tale version of government — right up there with “Congress reads the bills” and “the DMV line will move any minute now.”
In reality, the president’s role in choosing a Supreme Court justice is basically the political equivalent of calling dibs. They nominate someone, but that’s where their powers end. After that, the Senate strolls in like the world’s most judgmental HOA board and says: “Cute pick. We’ll decide if this person actually gets a black robe and a seat on the court
Amen but they exclusively run the SCOTUS.
She’s overall a disappointment and I supported her nomination
This ruling was technically correct but there was more at stake
Your the sole reason we’re going to lose the house.
It's You're, and go tell a Republican. I haven't been a Republican in years because of ppl like you. When Trump leaves the scene your Party will become a dustbin.
A quitter. No surprise. You’re probably ancient anyway. Will you even make it to midterms?
I’ve lived through enough midterms to know you’re not passing yours. And since you’re so eager to talk about November, let’s at least pretend you’re putting forward something coherent. If you’ve got a platform, now’s the time to show it. Lay out the grand vision. Spell out the priorities. Tell the public exactly what you think they should brace for when the dust settles. Because if the best you’ve got is DeSantis and his power-hungry wife to follow Trump, I’ll be here for the laughs.
The jealousy that spews out of your pours over the best governor in the country is fascinating. However, I’m a Rubio/Vance ticket supporter. Yes we are incredibly lucky in Florida to have incredible current and former Republicans. Your probably one of those California or New York lovers.
