Justice Amy Coney Barrett's face says it all as Trump awkwardly blasts SCOTUS to their faces after very frosty welcome

Donald Trump faced-off in-person with Supreme Court justices who ruled against his tariffs last week.

The four justices who attended his State of the Union address were forced to remain stoned-faced as the president berated them in front of a joint session of Congress, administration officials – and the world.

The president tore into the decision right after sharing cordial handshakes with the four justices seated in the front row of his State of the Union address on Capitol Hill on Tuesday.

'Just four days ago, an unfortunate ruling from the United States Supreme Court. Oh, very unfortunate ruling,' Trump lamented.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett kept straight faces during the berating despite both Republican-appointed justices joining all liberal justices in ruling against Trump's sweeping tariff policies.

Barack Obama-appointed Justice Elena Kagan and Trump-appointed Justice Brett Kavanaugh were also in the audience on Tuesday.

Trump insisted that, despite the 6-3 ruling, most countries and businesses have decided to keep the deals they negotiated with the US.

He said that he could make the tariffs even worse if he wanted to and threatened to do so at a press conference last week.

'His expression as he walked past the judges looked especially somber,' body language expert Judi James told the Daily Mail, noting a 'fading, high-pitched vocal tone of a 'disappointed' headmaster' as he 'roasted' the justices.

James said that the faces of the justices 'were held in expressionless close-up by the camera, although they appeared keen to return the eye contact from the stage.'

Well, President Trump did make some pretty amazing comments about SCOTUS having improper influence in their decision and that more information on that would be forthcoming.

I suspect that President Trump is putting the pressure on the Supremes in the run up to the birthright citizenship ruling which may be the most critical ruling for the court in decades. If we lose on that one, we lose the country.

“Traitor Roberts’ Handmaiden.”

Perhaps they bonded over their adoption stories. She 2x from Haiti, and Roberts 2x from Ireland by way of South America.

They sit in the big chairs, if a little criticism bothers them so much, they are unfit for the robes.

I don’t recall any LSM stories about Smuckie Shcummer or other democrats berating and even calling for violence against Supreme Court Justices.

Far too long the conversation has been one way, liberals always allowed to criticize and even threaten, conservatives expected to just praise, those days are over and that is a good thing.

It is time the SC felt heat from both sides to encourage actual consequences either way for their world changing decisions. That is how it is supposed to work.

Noted for future reference.

Coney Barrett was a horrible choice but you can't blame Trump too much.

She was pushed, hyped and supposedly vetted by the most influential conservative leaders in the country and they completely misrepresented her to President Trump and the American people

I think her presence at the State of the Union may suggest that she may be one of the Justices that Trump was referring to and she may be trying to repair the damage.

I'm still very suspicious about her critical role in denying Trump a proper hearing of the 2020 election irregularities in light of her unseemly and potentially unethical book deal with a huge advance

As we all know, lucrative book deals are the modern tool used to launder bribe money to corrupt politicians

I see it mostly the same way.

She likely sees it as ensuring her children are taken care of, given the best opportunities.

She may even be naïve, lying to herself as she accepts “innocent favors or sweetheart deals”

Doesn’t change the fact she has effectively compromised her integrity to the law.

Remember when Roberts and Barrett were sold to us as solid con servatives to help push them through their Senate confirmations?

But right out of the gate as soon as they were confirmed they bothshowed their true coors as Deep State loyalists.

Trump made another error.
You never attack judges who are trying to help you.
He should be happy he has won so many cases.

I agree, there is just something wrong with her on a strange mix of virtue signaling, moral posturing, self aggrandizement, self promoting and self dealing.

Accepting a biographical book deal so soon after being confirmed to the Supreme

From Politico April 2021.

Local media in Indiana is abuzz after Amy Coney Barrett and her husband put their South Bend home up for sale so they can move to DC, but it appears that's not the only big news for the Supreme Court justice. Three sources tell Politico that the conservative justice, the final one appointed by former President Trump, has gotten herself a book deal, with one source noting she earned an “eye-raising” $2 million advance. The tome will reportedly include Barrett's thoughts on judges keeping their personal feelings out of their rulings.

Leave it to Barrett to accept a $2 million book deal payoff from a book publisher notorious for giving huge, multi million dollar book advances as thinly veiled payoffs to quid pro quo politicians in order to lecture the world how impartial and ethical she is and how she maintains the highest standards of judicial integrity.

That's so Amy Coney Barrett.

I was hoping President Trump would utterly ROAST Roberts for failing to rein in the rogue District Judges that are blatantly partisan on the side of the wetback filth plaguing our country.

Yeah the Don could have handled this better. I think that the swipe at the SCOTUS was unnecessary, but reserved. He could easily have couched it in better terms. (ie) something like “The Supreme Court offered us some direction for the tariffs which we appreciate and respect. Now we have a Supreme Court approved solution and we will use it to Keep Making America Great. Thank you, you... and you...”

Instead he offered a little swipe which was equivalent to brushing it off his shoulder. Bit of a wasted opportunity but no blood, no foul.
