I doubt its political, heck even the White House today posted on their official facebook page how they want Nancy returned home safely and are assisting in anyway they can. The same email that was sent to TMZ is the same exact email that was sent to a news station in Arizona..they can try tracing it the perp might have used VPN but they can have an idea if the email came from inside the US

I don’t trust the headline gossip TV show TMZ. We don’t know if they generated the original ‘kidnap demand’????

I don’t think they’d fake a kidnapping demand, however, given the legal repercussions of doing so.
Moreover, the identical demand was sent to a local TV station.
That is not a cartel member, and that was my point. It may be adjacent to cartels, but cartels are not likely the actual perps.
What is their financial situation currently? Are they in major debt? If it is not good, there may be something to that claim. But I think the husband may be the person, not the sister, because isn’t he also missing?
