That’s the American Dream disappearing right there.
Bush’s, Cliton and Obamanation, all were selected to destroy America.
Offshoring production stole wealth creation from the middle class. Globalism and greed killed the American dream.
Decline begins in 1960 and has not stopped since.
You might be be right, but these two factors should be examined separately. Someone who is 30 years old may be neither married nor a homeowner for completely unrelated reasons.

“That’s the American Dream disappearing right there.”
Many will infer or believe that this is totally the fault of government.
I think it reflects poor work ethics and bad decisions by kids who were coddled by parents, participation trophies in competitions, and abysmal education in public schools.
It would be interesting to add a data point in this study to include how many of these married homeowners were home schooled.
I have two sons, both married. One is 33 and the other is 29.
The elder son has two daughters, a stay at home wife, makes about $110K a year in the elevator trades. He rents a home. Says it is impossible to afford a home.
The younger son has no children yet. He bought their home as he was getting married. It is a basic starter home, needs work, but it is theirs. His wife has a part time job because she was bored. He makes about $80K as a law enforcement officer.
In the case of my eldest son, his wife runs the finances. She is very frugal and risk adverse. My youngest son runs the finances in his home and he considers renting to be a waste of money.
Both boys raised in the same house, but taking on very different ideas towards finance.
I didn’t own a home until I was 37. That was in the mid-90s.
Yes, homes have gone up more than wages - but I was paying 8.5% in interest back then!
So no, I’m not feeling sympathy nor did I ever expect Trump to turn the economy around in 12 months flat.
Are these homes PAID FOR,or, are they still paying a mortgage ?
As a mortgage broker for many hears starting in 1991 I observed that young people nowadays tend to live right up to the highest lifestyle they can afford and do not tend to save for a down payment.
In addition they think their first home should be as big and nice as their parents home. They turn their noses up at starter homes or fixer uppers. That contributes to their lack of home ownership.
Perhaps if they save money instead of buying $7 coffees
I don’t understand the young people today. I have a 23yo Grandson who is good lo0king , doesn’t drink but has yet to go on a date, and I know he’s not gay. Why the change from yester year.
I don’t know if I can trust anyone article referencing 30 year old couples who are both married. If one’s married they’re both married !
