President Donald Trump declared that he will be cutting off federal funds to sanctuary jurisdictions across the country beginning in February.
The White House will cease all federal payments to city and state governments that restrict cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities, Trump said Tuesday while addressing the Detroit Economic Club. The declaration follows intense national focus on immigration policy, with multiple lawsuits against enforcement surges racking up and Democrats demanding the Department of Homeland Security scale back activities.

With the establishment of Fraud in so many Prog Marxist Democrat States and Cities, Sanctuaries being at the top of the list, there will be less resistance to this action.
This is will be rightly challenged in court. He may not like it but Trump does not have the authority to cut off funds that were appropriated through legislation.
The most he can probably do under his executive authority is cut off funds that come from administrative agencies and are dedicated to the enforcement of immigration laws. For example Boston PD system has received a grant from ICE to help pay for temporarily housing illegal immigrants in their jails.
Trump is not the king of Congress’ purse strings. He must know this because he is not a stupid man
