KENOSHA, Wis. — A dog was fatally shot after it attacked multiple people Saturday night, the Kenosha Police Department reported on Tuesday.

The police and fire departments responded to the 6100 block of 18th Avenue at around 9 p.m. and learned about a dog biting a 36-year-old woman.

While family members, officers, and fire personnel were gathered outside the home, the dog escaped and attacked multiple individuals, including members of the Kenosha Fire Department.

A police officer, who has four years of law enforcement experience, discharged his firearm, fatally wounding the animal. The dog was actively and aggressively attacking and biting numerous residents, who were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Kenosha Racine Area Investigative Team has been contacted to review the incident, and the Racine County Sheriff's Office was assigned as the lead agency for the investigation. Police said they would follow up with an internal investigation.

Officials said no further details will be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

This is why you don’t leave the TV on in earshot of your dogs. It’ll drive them crazy faster than a 14 y.o.

You can’t keep switching viewpoints and values in the presence of a dog. They’ll eventually figure you are the problem and attack.

Florida allows a “sword-cane”, which HAD been illegal since the 1930s.

It mustn’t be displayed in a threatening manner, but should give comfort to those on walks.

A heavy walking stick or cane might do the trick. It would just have to be heavy. Nothing made of light wood or aluminum.

My idiot neighbor is letting loose his pitbulls.
I am terrified to even mow my lawn

I have been looking at some kind of stun gun for dogs. I think they also emit a sound

I can’t trust pepper spray if they come lunging at me

Just strap on a 12 gauge stoked with 00 Buckshot while mowing your lawn.

😊

Sticks work on most dogs. See post 24. Pistols work well.

You have to be willing to hit hard, or shoot, but even serious poking at a dog with a stout stick will usually keep them a few feet away.

It’s good that you asked. This is the “General/Chat” forum and there is a wider range of topics here than in some of the others.

"serious poking at a dog with a stout stick will usually keep them a few feet away."

A stout stick with a sharpened point at one or both ends.

“ALLEGEDLY attacked” people.

Tip for budding young jowhorenalists.

Oh, and that U-Haul truck in LA was DRIVEN INTO a crowd of demonstratores, it didn’t DRIVE into.

Assigning agency isn’t libel.

No, barbaric policeman!
Another reason to defund the police.
They are just going around, killing innocent dogs!

Re: Stun gun for dogs

A stun cane would allow you to shock a dog without letting it get too close.

I’m 100% in favor of a ban on pitbulls. There is not a day that goes by without an attack.

The defenders say, “It’s just the way they’re raised,” but there are countless instances where these dogs have attacked and killed their owners, or worse, their owners’ children.

If prey cats can be restricted, so too can a dog breed whose sole genetic raison d’etre is to fight and kill.

You already SHOULD be carrying, especially if you’re elderly. Should also be practicing at the range a couple of times a month.

As an instructor, I teach/have taught a lot of elderly folks… As well as younger people. No one should ever have to live fearfully and be afraid to go out and do the things they need to do.

I love dogs, but I would not hesitate to put a pitbull straight down if it was trying to attack me. Same with its owner.

Breed? Obviously a labradoodle who was hug deprived. It’s the owners fault not the dog. /s
