Poet Renee Nicole Good, 37, named as Minneapolis woman shot dead by ICE agent as video captures grieving wife at the scene

A woman shot dead by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minnesota has been named as 37-year-old poet Renee Nicole Good.

The mother-of-three was named by her mother Donna Ganger, who spoke to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune on Wednesday afternoon.

'She was probably terrified,' Ganger said.

The grieving mom denied reports Good would have been 'part of anything like' the protests against ICE that were taking place at the location where she was killed.

'That's so stupid,' she said. 'Renee was one of the kindest people I've ever known.

'She was extremely compassionate. She's taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.'

Good was a poet and mother of three children who grew up in Colorado Springs. She was married to a comedian named Timothy Macklin who died in 2023 and now lives in Minneapolis with her partner, whose named has not been shared.

Good was shot three times in the face at a protest in Minneapolis on Wednesday after she ignored ICE agents' demands to get out of her car, reversed it and tried to drive off.

She was not ordering her life correctly. If you have children, you do not put yourself in this position. As a wife, mother and grandmother I would never go to any protest, I would not resist lawful orders. Women, mothers, grandmother’s stay in your lane , you are not needed at protests.

If she had succeeded in running over the agent, maiming or killing him, would her mother still deny she was aligned with an organization involved in "protests against ICE", that her daughter was kind, compassionate, loving, forgiving, and affectionate?

In recent memory the command “Stop! Police! Stop!” was enough of a warning. Shooting a fleeing suspect after that was shouted out, was enough to justify shooting the fleeing suspect.

I think most people are aware that officers are trained to aim at center mass of the body, but in this case the drive4 was behind the wheel of the car so a torso shot was probably not an option. That being the case, and having a split second to stop the driver and save his own life, the officer was forced to take a head shoot to quickly stop the threat. As you said, the lady put herself in a very bad situation; the outcome of which was her own fault.

From the angle I saw, the shooting looked a bit iffy. But, I did not see everything, and I do not know all the rules surrounding something like this and the benefit of the doubt has to go with the officer, I will wait for everything to come out before rendering judgement. Antifa will not. I wonder whose neighborhoods are going to burn.
