Recently freerepublic stopped loading correctly on my Samsung phone. The spacing between lines are off and the font is too small and can't be adjusted to fit the page correctly. I've tried all the options on the phone, and returned to my carrier to fix it. They claim it has to be a website problem. Is anyone else having this problem, or know how to correct it?
Did you just install the new software update? I love the fact that I can’t rotate my screen now, due to an update, without having to click on the icon that sometimes shows up and sometimes doesn’t.
Just like them sneaking in the call recording button on the phone screen which site right at my ear lobe. Bastards
My old-ish Samsung Galaxy A14 5G works just fine with FR or any other website in Brave browser. The only issue I have is over time the touch screen stops responding normally, many taps, no response. To fix it, I have to clear the cache memory. You might try that yourself.
Hm. My Motorola Moto-G is not loading the top of the page … pings etc
What browser are you using?
Try the Opera browser. It’s the best for reading FR. It has reflow, which means you can adjust the text to any size and it will fit within the screen - no need to scroll left and right.
Android phone here and I’ve had the small font issue for a couple of weeks now.
Tried several browsers, still a problem
There are so many browsers out there now I imagine programming the web site to fit every single one is a challenge.
When I used to do my site there were about three browsers. And keeping the site clean to handle those was a pain in the butt.
It’s the brave browser and chrome that have the super small font. Try Firefox.
Thank you.
“It’s not going to load for anyone if it misses the fundraiser.”
Ain’t that the truth!
Mine stopped loading correctly on brave.
Quite often, extremely small print is the result of someone else posting a V E R Y long URL or an extremely large picture.
That forces your phone to fit everything in the screen, making everything smaller.
I have had similar problem for a few weeks. Using Brave...maybe I will try firefox
Have you tried rebooting your phone ... turn it off and back on?
Is your computer plugged in? Or better yet, try rebooting your phone. According to some tech gurus, rebooting android daily is a good idea for security.
An example of an FR post with a V E R Y long URL that will cause small print on your phone:

hi admin,
Any idea what is going on here?
apparently this prob has been going on for months.
With me it started around 2 weeks ago on both android phones, a Samsung w/Brave and a motorolla using chrome.
Every other site works fine..
Most developers have tools that allow you to set minimums based on browser versions. You lose a lot of features if you try to code for everyone so they’ll typically choose the most used or program in adaptive style which in theory adapts to most browser conditions. I wonder if that was or is the issue.
I use the Opera browser on my Samsung, it is very well suited for text-intensive sites like FR.
Touch the screen with two fingers, then spread them apart, and then lift them off the screen. The image will refresh, and the lines of text will wrap around so they don’t go off the screen, minimizing horizontal scrolling.
I forgot to mention that the font size will increase as you spread your fingers apart.
