Russia has more armored vehicles now than in 2022. The math is ugly.

The Russian military has more armored vehicles than it did on the eve of Russia's wider war on Ukraine in February 2022. And for one main reason.

Despite losing as many as 16,100 vehicles in action in Ukraine, the Russians have more than compensated for these losses by pulling nearly 13,000 old vehicles out of long-term storage—and complementing these older vehicles with around 4,000 brand-new vehicles.

“Meanwhile the Russian motorbikes and doorless cars are much lighter and more agile and you can only hit one soldier at a time on a bike. “

“If I were writing this article, it wouldn’t be about armored vehicles. It would be about how I’ve noticed that in videos lately I’ve seen the same things over and over again. Namely, Russian troops on motorbikes and in light cars and trucks with the doors ripped off.”

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Russians have conducted assault operations using highly mobile and fast vehicles such as motorcycles or all-terrain vehicles.

In addition, such vehicles are used to deliver provisions, ammunition, and infantry to positions or as transportation for mobile anti-tank and anti-aircraft crews.

Their speed helps minimize the time spent in the open, thus reducing the time to detection and destruction.

Despite their high speed and maneuverability, such vehicles often become easy targets for FPV drones and artillery, and due to the lack of protection, the crew’s survival chances are minimal.

“I’ve seen a lot of comments from westerners mocking the stripped down Russian approach, as if continuing to use up expensive Western military vehicles is an intelligent approach. It is not.”

Finally, casualty rates remain a major concern. Feedback from across the front reveals two consistent patterns: either motorcycle assaults fail to deliver meaningful results, or success comes at a steep cost, with only one in several groups surviving to complete the mission. This raises serious questions about whether such losses would be considered acceptable by commanders in Western militaries.

EU sent heavy manufacturing east to countries like China

I'd imagine you can't operate steel foundries off of solar and wind power.

For the same reason that the Ukrainians abandoned their vehicles and attacked on foot after the first few days of the Counter-Offensive.

There is now so many drones and ISR for artillery and the response time is so quick that a high value target like IFV or tanks is a liability.

But Russia, which is in bed with North Korea. NK is a communist country, therefore very poor. They can manufacture artillery shells and rent out soldiers. Russia has enery, fertilizer and money.

Russia, which is in bed with Xi. China is a manufacturing goliath. Post EU sanctions, Russia turned to making their own stuff or import from China. Russia exports energy and has money.

Russia, which is led by a former KGB AGENT, who loves his country and uses his skill set to defend his Country, the Church, and his culture.

Russia, which supports Iran, a country whose geographic space protects Russia’s southern-western flank from land attack

Russia, which propped up the regimes of Castro. Cuba’s intelligence services are very very good. They infiltrated South America and (alledged) control some USA politicians

“So, long way to go...maybe in 100+ years, Russia's losses will be unbearable.”

But gold will run out much faster than that. So how will you recruit those dudes ?

The Ruble is nearly at pre-war levels now...so that pretty much speaks for Russia’s ability to finance the war.
