I lived near the Ranger Ft. Benning base in Columbus, GA. We generally saw them in uniform in the wild making the rounds from Krispy Kreme to Waffle House, not so much in the local markets. Some things you cannot get in the Commissary.

If a man goes into the women's room at my local Target, he'll get the shit kicked out of him.

By the women.

Walmart adds a lot of "solution" to their meat, so they can charge more for less.

I know this. I worked in the meat department at Walmart many years ago.

“Call the store directly about your account or stop at the office. Maybe you’ll get lucky.”

Hadn’t thought of that. I’ll ask next time I’m in there. Thanks. :)

That is impressive. I’m all about not wasting anything and just-in-time restocking is great.

When I managed the Garden Center, inventory and turnover and top sellers versus things that languished was my priority. We had a LOT of perishables to move in a short window of time.

I must’ve been one of their only Managers to ever concern themselves with that - my sales were always higher than all the other stores and yearly Inventory (the BANE of every Retailer’s existence!) always went smoothly with few errors.

Well, we DID have a $3 million dollar error once, but that was just a keyboard entry error. Thank goodness! :)

When people say AI is a passing fad, I say, “Tell it to Walmart.”;-)

I typically prefer to buy in the store, but recently I bought an item that wasn’t available in two different Walmarts. I gave up and ordered on line, and had next day delivery with “free” shipping (of course, that was figured into the price). I was very happy with the service.

A lot of Walmart stuff is in locked cabinets. You push a button to summon help, and that rarely works, and that’s annoying, and some of the employees can be pretty nasty.

My local Walmart has the worst shopping carts in the world. I swear most of them have square wheels.

Is better to go to CostCo. Unlike Walmart, CCo increases local businesses, even competitors. WM’s plan from the beginning has been to close down all local business.

Check the stats, the companies are fundamentally different.

It's not always laziness.

A lot of people were not brought up seeing any home cooking done. They would be starting from scratch and probably have to buy $200-400 in kitchen ware. Then they would have to learn the basic techniques from scratch. That's like learning a trade.

A couple of days ago, the meat dept guy gave me a dollar off Leg of Lamb. $5.99 instead of $6.99. They were all about 10 lbs so that’s a $10 savings. I think Cargill is a little loose with their definition of lamb though. That 10 lb leg is the size of my full grown meat goat bucks. AI says 5-8 lb for leg of lamb.

At $60, I better do really good with cooking it. What shall I do with that 2-3 lb bone?

Winco has some excellent prices on Stash Tea and a canned pink guava juice (100% pink guava only).

Those two items alone make us swing by. That juice can’t be found in any other store near us. Stash Tea has no plastics in the bag of any sort and it’s so cheap there, it stuns me.

Agree...That’s why I get ALL my meats from ALDI. Excellent meat and a lot cheaper than others.
