This EV market bloodbath can’t be what it seems.
I don’t give a crap about the cars. The model x is neat but everything else is just more modern day garbage.
What I have been following is the Livewires inventory. I buy bikes based on one thing - looks. The Livewire 1 is a beautiful bike, and I want it.
I understand that they are making them, but only selling about 25 of them a year. Taking a bath. I also hear that the prices are dropping.
So I’ve done this “negotiating” things at the dealership. Mind you, in personal friends with the owner of the dealership. They are willing to come down about 5k on the 30k price tag.
All these articles make it sound like they are now affordable but I have yet to see that reality.

The SAVINGS climb past $50,000? I want to pay that much for a new car!
To: Red Badger
If you subsidize a good or service, it triples the price.

I follow several car people YT channels, and the common theme is that the companies complaining about sales have only themselves to blame. Prices are far too high.

The second best selling car model in the world is a Tesla Model Y.
There is no EV in the world that can compete with the Model Y.
Oh and the Model 2’s will arrive shortly. The prices are $16,000 for the regular and $25,000 for the extended range model

The Maybach EQS 680 costs $180,000 to $200,000. You’d have to be insane to buy one of them even with a $50,000 discount.

That’s what bumper stickers splashed all over the vehicle are for.

Somewhat misleading to call the $50,000 “savings” when you still have to fork out $131,000 for a depreciation power diving EV with an even shorter range than the plain Mercedes version.

But not an electric ⚡️one. My Florida next door neighbor’s wife has a Maybach minivan. Not electric. Tiger I and Tiger II tanks all had Maybach engines.

Insertion of government connected middlemen and associated skimmers ain’t cheap in making something more affordable.
