NFL fans became fed up with the Eagles’ “push tush” play on Sunday after Philly QB Jalen Hurts made a fumble that ended up not being ruled a fumble.
The Eagles unleashed the play on 4th-and-1 to push Hurts just far enough ahead to gain a first down, but as he surged forward, he lost control of the ball, and it appeared that the New York Giants’ Kayvon Thibodeaux stripped it from Hurts’ possession.
Naturally, the Giants thought they had won control of the ball.

Of course, the refs disagreed. They ruled that Hurts’ forward progress was already finished before he lost the ball. Therefore, the call gave the Eagles a first down.
The whole thing drove frustrated fans to call for a ban on the tush push play, as Bleacher Report noted.

Inquiring minds need to know....
So many false starts when this play is run as well I’ve seen.
So are the Eagles the only team that knows how to do the Tush Push properly? Seems like teams should be trying to do a better job of it themselves, rather than trying to get it banned.
Either / or is fine. I’ve heard it called both.
It should be banned simply because it is dangerous to those on the bottom of the pile...................
Yes, the ones with the ball crowd the line with their helmets and in so doing the officials cannot see the ball or when it is hiked...............

Hands on your hips
Give off a push
You’ll be surprised, you’re doing the French Mistake... Voila!
Every fumbled ball, close play or unbelievable call will have people saying it’s gambling influenced.
Already doing that!.............
It’s tush push or the brotherly shove.
Sounds like steam escaping
Like the new kickoff rules, the tush push in no good..
This play Was always banned, at all levels, until the NFL and only the NFL made it legal.
With the new kickoff rules, they may as well make overtime 5 minutes of synchronized swimming with no contact allowed.

Its very similar to a rugby scrum. Folks want it banned because its effective when done properly.
The Eagles are one of the few teams to do it right most of the time.
