It was quite a thriller. Some years later they made a remake- I think it was a mini-series made for tv. It stunk.

Remember the sci-fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still? They made a remake with Keanu Reeves as Klaatu. It stunk, too. To me it did.

Now, the War of the Worlds remake with Tom Cruise wasn’t bad.

Ironically, in every version and true to the book, the martians were done in by earth bacteria, for which they had no resistance. The Chinese would flip the script.
