Space exploration has entered a new era where microbial discoveries challenge our understanding of life beyond Earth. The Chinese Tiangong station recently became the site of an extraordinary finding that reads like science fiction but represents very real scientific advancement. This discovery raises fundamental questions about biological adaptation in extreme environments.
Niallia tiangongensis emerges from space station samples During routine operations in May 2023, the Shenzhou-15 crew collected samples from Tiangong’s habitation module that would later reveal something unprecedented. Scientists identified a completely new bacterial species, subsequently named Niallia tiangongensis after its birthplace among the stars. This microorganism represents the first known bacterium to develop specifically within a Chinese space facility.
The China Space Station Habitation Area Microbiome Program (CHAMP) conducted extensive analysis revealing that Tiangong’s microbial environment differs significantly from the International Space Station’s ecosystem. Researchers documented a predominance of human-associated microbes alongside remarkable genetic diversity, suggesting rapid evolutionary adaptations to space conditions including microgravity, elevated radiation exposure, and confined living spaces.
This newly discovered bacterium shares genetic similarities with Niallia circulans, a terrestrial soil bacterium known for its exceptional resilience. However, the space-adapted variant demonstrates unique characteristics that set it apart from its earthbound relatives. The discovery parallels other groundbreaking findings, such as when archaeologists make incredible discoveries after opening rooms sealed for centuries, revealing how isolation creates unique conditions for development.

“Beautiful language, brilliant indigenous culture”
You mean CHINA? Surely you jest. All things Chinese — except Kung Pao Chicken — give me the creeps. Something inherently evil in the culture.
Maybe it’s because we grew up learning about the martyrdom of John and Betty Stam, missionaries to China, and it stuck with me.
Nuke it from the surface, it’s the only way to be sure.
America doesn’t know enough about Mao because America’s “press” are all Maoists.
🙄😆😜
You didn’t ping Fungi.
😁
“..Liberals have ‘evolved’ into hard-core leftists....”
Liberals have ‘evolved’ into hard-core rabid, insane communists....fixed it.
Liberalism is a chronic, no-cure, debilitating mental disease that destroys everything it touches, usually by reversing everything: up is down, bad is good, white is black, male is female, right is wrong, math is racist, etc....the list is looonnnggg. Classic insanity.
They belong in a rubber room inside an insane asylum, NOT anywhere near the levers of power of anything, especially government.
You have to ask yourself, why are the Chinese conducting such research, I find it hard to believe it’s for benevolent purposes, they don’t do anything that has no benefit to themselves either thru enriching the CCP or harming the USA.
I THOUGHT about it LOL 🤣🤣🤣

Regards,
No doubt it originated from their feces. These people use it for fertilizer especially potatoes. They also use the same pot to wash clothes and cook food.
And leave the beagles home.
Remember the sci-fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still? They made a remake with Keanu Reeves as Klaatu. It stunk, too. To me it did.
Now, the War of the Worlds remake with Tom Cruise wasn’t bad.
But I got waaay off the subject…🙂
lol
I like Chinese. I like Chinese food, Chinese writing, the musical language, the martial arts, the Taoist philosophy with its parallels to Kaballah, acupuncture, massage and herbal medicines. Charlie Chan movies. They’re always happy, always eager to please. I like Chinese.
Andromeda Strain reference. Nice.
A fitting end to a horrible person.
“Now, the War of the Worlds remake with Tom Cruise wasn’t bad.”
Spielberg-rebellious-kids made it great. A perfect match.
Ironically, in every version and true to the book, the martians were done in by earth bacteria, for which they had no resistance. The Chinese would flip the script.
Trust the science :-)
