The US Chamber of Commerce is reportedly considering to file a lawsuit against the Trump administration after announcing a $100,000 annual fee on H-1B visa. The move has sparked concerns among Indian and other foreign nationals working in the US economy that relies heavily on H-1B visa. According to a Bloomberg report, officials with the country’s largest business lobby polled member companies to test support for a lawsuit. The report cites people familiar with the conversations who, on the condition of anonymity, said that the group sought feedback from corporations on potential litigation during a series of phone calls and Zoom meetings.

Chamber spokesperson Matt Letourneau said in a statement that the group is “examining the legal basis for the proclamation.”

How about it.
While the thread is about stuff including "on the condition of anonymity," here is some hard info:
"Number of H-1B visa beneficiaries approved in fiscal 2025, by company"Personally, I'd be fine with zero work visas, and only legal immigration by legal pathways. Time to look at an underlying cause -- STEM has been devalued, while "basket weaving," "queer studies" and Harvard's latest "drag queen" faculty member are all the rage. Our trade schools should be the path forward.Amazon -- 14.667
Tata Consultancy Services -- 5,586
Microsoft -- 5,1989
Meta Platforms -- 5,123
Apple -- 4,202
Google -- 4,186
Cognizant Technology Solutions -- 3,681
Deloitte Consulting -- 3,180
JPMorgan Chase -- 2,440
Walmart -- 2,390"The worker visas that President Trump says now require $100,000 application fees fill a tiny portion of the U.S. workforce but include high-value jobs concentrated among some of the biggest technology companies in some of the wealthiest coastal states."
Who Uses H-1B Visas the Most, in Charts Wall Street Journal, 22 September 2025
Angry at the Chamber of Commerce? Then boycott Amazon, and the other "commerce" companies masquerading as "tech."
That is the legal question. As I recall, this question of excessive fees has been litigated before, in other contexts.
Oh yeah our best and brightest should be plumbers and chase turds for our Brahmin overlords. Can we nix that stupid idea?
No standing. Sorry. If you don’t like it having your candidate get elected.
The US Chamber of Commerce and its local chapters are the raison d’dtre of the RINOS. They are also one of the most anti-American worker organizations that has been undermine our country for a very long time.
I dont think they have standing in this proposed case, but we will see.
Chamber spokesperson said that the group is “examining the legal basis for the proclamation.”
Sounds like they have no standing to sue.......snx.
Hot under the collar, huh? One can learn many, many things beyond plumbing in trade schools. Besides, decades ago companies like HP had already instituted the notion of moving beyond "qualified" to "qualifiable" candidates, such that in-house training could broaden a new hire's skills -- tech skills, as well as marketing skills.
Trade schools do more than "chase turds." Like "industry-specific training," including electrical, mechanical and civil engineering, cybersecurity, and more.
Fine tech programs in STEM like Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, MIT and CalTech would do well, especially when the genders studies and DEI types are removed.
Too many liberal arts programs at state universities and liberal art colleges costing far too much are not your worth defending them.
President Trump needs to turn around and sue the heck out of the Chamber of Commerce for not minding their own damn business.
BTW. Greedy big money boys don’t have a standing here.
A HA! That’s exactly what I called the other day.
The COC has been a useless and greedy chamber for a long time, and used their influence to create the mess we’re in.
Eff ‘em.
“I DGAGGDFF about the ignorant and worthless Indian School of Incompetence H-1B Low Wage Chamber of Effing Commerce Balance Sheet Hires”
College majors in computer science and information systems were once a surefire ticket to success. But today, those who earn degrees in these majors face one of the highest unemployment rates among recent college graduates thanks, in large part, to foreigners taking jobs in these fields. So I’m hoping Trump’s fee increase will prevail.
The Chamber of Commerce has long been the leading supporter of cheap labor and illegal immigration.
It only cares that its businesses make a lot of money. It cares not about America or Americans. Laws mean nothing if they interfere with profits.
This once “Republican-aligned” organization is now an integral part of the democrat party.
What was once true is not so now because of change.
High Schools are producing graduates with various certifications once available only to College computer majors.
Again.
Trump needs to get busy getting executive orders like this officially authorized by Congress, rather than trying to influence the outcome of wars.
The Chamber of Commerce can go F themselves. This isn’t a tax, and they should, pardon the pun, MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS.
Well they ought to close that loophole. Make it apply to renewals too. And raise it from 100k to 250k because these people have unique skills right? Since they are so in-demand 250k should be nothing.
Right. But I have no idea how this will come out, or whether the statute in question contains language that would either authorize or limit the president's ability to set fees. I just don't know.
But it is interesting to see how many people have absolutist positions on this even though they don't know the answer to that question either. Apparently, they don't care about the Constitution, and they don't care about the law. They just about whether they like the underlying policy and believe that's how the courts should rule.
