Judge blocks Trump from sending National Guard into Portland as protesters clash with federal agents outside ICE facility

An Oregon federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump administration from sending the National Guard into Portland, as the city contends with hundreds of protestors at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility.

It's a major blow to Trump, who called Portland a 'war-ravaged' city under siege by Antifa terrorists, when he announced last week that federal agents would be deployed there.

U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut, a Trump appointee, made the ruling after the city and the state sued the federal government.

The temporary restraining order expires in 14 days on October 18, Immergut wrote in her order.

The Department of Defense has been ready to federalize 200 members of Oregon's National Guard for the next 60 days to protect the ICE facility, which has been a site for protests throughout the summer and into the fall.

On Saturday, about 400 people participating in a 'No National Guard in Portland' rally marched from Elizabeth Caruthers Park to the ICE facility.

As they marched, a helicopter continually followed them. And once they arrived at the facility, federal agents shot tear gas into the crowd and made six arrests, The Oregonian reported.

It's not yet clear who was arrested or why they were taken into custody.

FYI....AmericanInTokyo has been anti-FR ever since President Trump entered the scene 10 years ago. Why that thing is still here is a good question?

Update: Judge Karin Immergut issued a new order just now blocking ALL National Guard from anywhere in the country from protecting federal property in Oregon. She said there is no justification for them being there.

Around 100 California National Guard members had already landed… https://t.co/yy6vkl7IBc— Andy Ngo (@MrAndyNgo) October 6, 2025

Au contraire… I’m about the same. It is indeed **FR** which has changed… I invite you to go to the archives of 20 or 25 years ago to this very day and just read post after post supporting Bush and Cheney and an aggressive Reagan foreign policy overseas and free trade and opposing the budget deficits, a national police force, I could go on and on.

Sure. We've learned about the problems associated with Bush and especially Cheney. We've grown as a forum to realize that the middle of the Republican party has far too much in common with the Democrat party, even as the Dems went further insane.

I far prefer who we are today. We are no longer fooled by globalists and the like. And, for all his foibles... and there are many.... Trump has the best instincts.
