The MONTHLY Gardening Thread is a gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you.
If you have specific question about a plant/problem you are having, please remember to state the Growing Zone where you are located.
This thread is a non-political respite. No matter what, you won’t be flamed, and the only dumb question is the one that isn’t asked.
It is impossible to hijack the Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table Recipes, Preserving, Good Living - there is no telling where it will go - and that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us! Send a Private Message to Diana in Wisconsin if you'd like to be added to/removed from our New & Improved Ping List.
NOTE: This is a once a MONTH Ping List, but we DO post to the thread all throughout the month. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest to Gardeners are welcomed any time.
I love molasses cookies, so I am going to try this recipe. Thank you!
What is the app you use for your recipes? I have never used one, but clearly I need to.
Thanks for the lemon verbena info.
The app I use is ‘Copy Me That’, free version.
You find a recipe you want to save & copy the URL. Go to Copy Me That, put URL in ‘browser’ & copy, then ‘view recipe’ ... you can modify what is being saved, then ‘confirm’. After saving, you can edit the recipe (I will add a note(s) from my experience making the recipe sometimes & I delete metric measurements), ‘organize’ with tags, multiple tags are OK. It saves the URL so you can go back to the original recipe. It will add a picture from the recipe & you can change it to another one on the recipe you like better.
You can also create a recipe if you don’t have a link by just inputting it - add a picture from your camera pics or a URL.
I LOVE this app! It has revolutionized organizing my recipes.

[USE 2 CUPS] is a note from making this several times. The [parmesan & pork rind topping is perfect] is another note. I also have marked this recipe as one I made and a 'favorite'. I have 3 tags on it & might add one for 'potluck'
Thank you! I need a recipe app! As it is now, I have a “note” that’s called *Recipes From FR*. I copy and paste the text and add a link to that post. Super fancy (chuckle)!
It’s usually pretty easy to find a link to the recipes posted on FR (Liz) & add them to the app. If someone writes out a recipe, you can copy & paste in the app.
For recipes I manually input, I take a picture of the dish once made with my phone & add it.
When you organize the recipes by category, they’re easy to find. I also categorize by chef if it’s a favorite chef & I have several of their recipes in my app.
