Police announced on Monday, Sept. 15, that a woman from Buffalo, New York was arrested and charged after allegedly using pepper spray on another customer last month at the Longhorn Steakhouse in Cheektowaga, NY.
According to WVIB 4, Jnaya Johnson, 23, was charged with third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawfully possessing a noxious material.
Although Johnson intended to target another adult woman with the chemical spray, a 3-month-old baby was accidentally exposed to the spray and had to be taken to the hospital for difficulty breathing. Several other customers were also affected.
The incident occurred on Aug. 25 before 9 p.m., according to police reports. An argument had broken out between someone in Johnson’s party and another woman in the restaurant.
As Johnson’s friend was verbally disputing with the other woman at the front of the restaurant, Johnson got out of her seat, walked over to them, and allegedly sprayed the pepper spray directly into the face of the other woman without warning.
Both the woman who was sprayed and the nearby 3-month-old baby were transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. It’s unclear if the woman sprayed and the young baby knew each other.
Johnson was booked on all charges and released with an appearance ticket, in accordance with New York State law.

> I think i would want the most avaliable. <
Yes, indeed. But you’ve got to stay at (or under) the legal maximum canister size for your state. Now here’s the crazy thing. Different legal websites give different maximum sizes for my state.
I suppose I’ll have to contact my state representative for clarification on this.
I guessed.
I was right.
I’m never wrong...............
It’s easy to get the boogaloo out of the jungle, but it’s impossible to get the jungle out of the boogaloo...
“...she visits a prisoner in jail and puts her rear end against a chain link fence.”
There was (is?) a prison for youths in my state that was divided by a chain-link fence...one side for young men and one side for young women. It took a while for authorities to figure out how the girls kept getting pregnant.
Is it illegal to own pepper spray in New York?
Reminds me of Canada. They ban pepper spray and take it away from you at the border. At the desk where I had to turn it in was a poster advising campers to carry bear spray to ward of bear attacks. Bear spray is 3X the intensity of pepper spray and a lot more of it. Leftist brainpower in action....
Her parents should have bought another vowel.
Jnaya! No doubt.
There is a reason why these people like to show their @ss. It’s all they’ve got and all they are.
Yup, you guessed it. It’s them again...
I don't think so, but I believe it has to be purchased at a gun shop or similar. No mail order.
Yes, in most jurisdictions. Like England, it is illegal to defend yourself with anything other than a whistle. No tazer, spray, knife, anything.
The coppers will immediately materialize, yah see.

Let‘s hope and pray that the little one is okay, at least😞
Anything that can be used for self defense against progressive is against the law.
Gross.
Not sure, but I am sure it’s illegal to use it unless being physically attacked.
Looks like she needs a boob picker upper.
I highly recommend the boned in rib eye at Longhorn. It was very good. I’ve paid double at fancy restaurants for a cut and the difference was marginal.
Let‘s hope and pray that the little one is okay, at least.
Sure hope so.
