Well, he’s a spry youngin - and it looked like he was gimping a bit as he started moving out.
Perhaps he rubbed some dirt on it?
The video I've seen shows a long, rigid item covered in what is now known to be a black towel. It's easy to see as he gets down to initiate the drop and can be seen again as he lifts it off the roof as he drops. He clearly picks it up on the ground and is seen moving it around as he runs/walks away.

Interesting. I am not a gun guy, so I don’t know about breaking down the rifle. The reports I’ve seen suggest the rifle was in one piece the entire time, so why was the screw driver used?
It was an unmodified Mauser 98. They are 44.5 inches long with approximately 24 inch barrels. Look for the pics.
The video is poor quality but, yes, dark shapes indicating the rifle wrapped in a black towel is seen as he clambers off the roof and again when he was walking away.
It could be that he used the screwdriver to reassemble the barreled action into the stock in the first place.

Why not leave the rifle in the gutter, although I don’t see how he could disguise the nearly 40”+ weapon while jumping down... how did he reconnect it? How to disconnect it... Does taking it apart and putting it together change the shooting profile?
