The suspect in Charlie Kirk's assassination has been identified as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah resident.

Law enforcement sources told Daily Mail that Robinson was taken into custody as the alleged assassin who killed Kirk at a rally at Utah Valley University in Utah on Wednesday.

The alleged killer confessed to his father Matt, who is a a 27-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff's Department, sources told Daily Mail. His father then contacted authorities and secured his son before he could be taken into custody.

His mother, Amber Robinson, works for Intermountain Support Coordination Services, a company contracted by the state of Utah to help disabled people receive care.

Robinson was a student at Utah State University on a scholarship, insiders confirmed to Daily Mail.

The family's social media profiles show Robinson, who has two younger brothers, often enjoying family vacations and sharing smiling selfies, including some celebrating the alleged killer getting into college.

Robinson was taken into custody around 11pm local time in southern Utah on Thursday night. He lives in a $600,000 six-bedroom home in Washington, Utah - about 260 miles south of Kirk's assassination in Orem.

Officials have yet to confirm a motive to the assassination.

Authorities said at a press conference on Thursday night that Robinson will face the death penalty if convicted.

“We need public execution on this one.”

I’d pay to watch.

The bullet bounced off a bulletproof vest into his neck.

No. And it’s not the NRA’s fault, the gun manufacturer’s fault - or the fault of the gun itself.

If you want to blame third parties, blame the university professors, the fake news pundits and the Democrat politicians who brainwash these kids.

Let’s see how many women online throw their panties at him, like Luigi Mangione.

I’m starting the over/under at -100.

No. There’s much more to this story, I wager.

I like his views and his attitude. I was just talking about the public relations and celebrity aspects which mean a lot to the impressionable American people now.

I’m on his side.

Am I the only one who is having a difficult time believing that guy could effectively pull off a kill shot from 200 yards?

of course not. However, you and any others who have that difficulty probably do not know firearms well.

At 100 yards using an AK with open sights on a full silhouette target I sent 30 rounds from the standing position while holding on the belt buckle (std 100 meter set up, I believe). I was not rapid firing (not allowed) but was at about 1 round per second. Only 3 did not hit black. 3 others were outside of the 6 ring, but hit black. 19 were inside of the 8 ring with tighter grouping at the center. Believe me when I confess I am noting special as a marksman.

Point being, 200 yards from a prone position with a scope is an easy shot if the weapon is sighted properly.

“Officials have yet to confirm a motive to the assassination.”

They’ll get around to it as soon as they learn the motives for a few hundred other recent crimes. But don’t worry; they’re all over it.

Former WaPo “reporter” Taylor Lorenz (who praised Mangione) will probably believe he is her soulmate given the similarity in their first names.

Not really. It’s not unusual for cops to have guns other than their service weapons. And he may be an avid hunter as well.

Are you saying that anybody could make a 200 yard shot without any previous shooting experience? I assumed that this guy was at least competent enough to have practiced to make that shot.

How’d he jump off the building with that “rifle” stuffed in his pant leg??

Where’s the rifle, at this point? He had to *reassemble* it, wrap it, and, “leave it in the woods”, you know ...

You may very well be. It’s not unusual for a decent rifle with a properly zeroed scope. He may even have experience hunting, where such shots are not uncommon.

Robinson’s dad, Matt—a 27-year vet—did the unthinkable, holding his son until cops arrived, a heroic act that’s saved lives and earned him prayers from a grateful nation.

His dad was a sheriff.

God bless his dad. I cannot fathom how hard that had to have been for him to do that.

“...but the prosecutor represents the government, not the victim’s survivors.”

That’s often part of the problem, when prosecutors who claim to be representing the state agree to egregious plea bargains despite the wishes of survivors. A perfect example is the recent deal given to Kohlberger in Idaho, which ignited what many consider a justified outrage.

Such cases, which prosecutors claim may be in the interest of justice but may actually indicate only a personal agenda, may often arise from a prosecutor’s fear of actually going into court and fighting. It’s not uncommon.

“He lives in a $600,000 six-bedroom home in Washington, Utah - about 260 miles south of Kirk’s assassination in Orem.”

Let me guess - has never had a job, just spent all his time stewing in the Dem’s brainwashing.

He didn’t have a vest on, you can see his nipples under his t-shirt. I even linked to the exact moment he shows you why there is no vest on.
