It began with a train ride that should have been ordinary. Instead, it became the final moments of a young woman’s life, captured on viral footage that is as haunting as it is devastating.
Last month in Charlotte, North Carolina, 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska boarded a light rail train seeking nothing more than safe passage. What she found was violence so senseless and brutal that it has ignited a national outcry.
The attacker, later identified as 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr., lunged at Zarutska with a pocket knife. In the footage, she is seen in shock, staggering, before collapsing as life slips away. She never stood a chance. Brown was arrested shortly after. His record, riddled with charges of robbery, felony larceny, and threats, paints a portrait of a man long known to the justice system, yet still free...
Even in grief, voices of compassion are rising. Eoghan McCabe, CEO of Intercom, stunned many when he announced a $500,000 fund dedicated to murals of Zarutska’s face in major U.S. cities.
“I am offering $500k in $10k grants to paint murals of the face of Iryna Zarutska in prominent US city locations,” McCabe wrote on X.
The post went viral, attracting support from high-profile figures including Elon Musk, who reportedly pledged an additional $1 million toward the initiative. Whether his contribution has been finalized remains unclear, but the symbolic gesture amplified the campaign’s visibility.

F them and the Ukrainian flag wavers who ignored her murder.
Like you didn’t do? You made the assertion; now support it. You might have missed it, but in responding to your false claims, I provided a link - but it wasn’t worth my time to hotlink it - figure it out. Took me about 30 seconds to find the chart I summarized from.
FYI...you can design a mural, print it on vinyl, like a banner and heat apply it to a hard surface, like brick, stucco, etc. You can do this cheap, won’t be anywhere near 10K as for 10K you can probably get 10 murals for each 10K grant.
Just saying...

In addition, let's see one light rail station on every line in the country named for her.
I agree on the primacy of the President of the United States. But it’s a hard row to hoe when you’re the richest man who made his fortune by aggressive and creative industry. He’s used to believing in himself and in being able to convince others that he’s right. And he’s not raised in the United States with the reverence we have for the office. (If not always the holder of the office.) So this is a well-deserved spanking and he’s had some time to let it percolate as he goes to sleep at night.
Hopefully, he’ll see the value of their partnership and realize that what works with other people doesn’t work with Trump. To succeed as he has up till now, Musk MUST have learned to modify for new situations. I trust he’ll be able to adjust soon, especially as Trump has gone to some trouble to lay out a welcome mat for him to stand on when he returns to the White House door.

Beautiful.
