Almost every logo change freaks people out. We’re disturbingly addicted to corporate logos.
As long as they leave the Underwriters Laboratories logo alone.
Aunt Jemima was a real person................
The unifying factor behind these disastrous errors is that the marketing gurus dictating them are all girls.
The idea of Aunt Jemima being a slave never occured to me. I just thought she was a lady who made pancakes for kids.
It's only the racists who see race everywhere.
Due to inbreeding crotch fruit goes bad fast.
I’ve never been to a Cracker Barrel; there just isn’t one near my stomping grounds.
But If I saw the old logo as I drove by, I’d be intrigued to stop and check out the restaurant. The new log doesn’t arouse any feeling at all, and I’d just pass on.
We sure stopped buying Land-o-Lakes.
That’s the revised, young Aunt Jemima. When I was a kid they portrayed a middle-aged black woman as Aunt Jemima.
As a person with Native American Hretage, I am particularly annoyed by what Land O Lakes Butter Did.
They Kept the Land
They kept the lakes
They got rid of the Indian.
Well at least they got rid of a white guy in a logo instead of a black person or a native American.
Getting rid of Grandpa makes a lot of sense to marketeers these days - old, white, male, and the guy was probably heterosexual as well. That might not be the message the CEO intended but it’s the one that’s coming across, and I don’t think it’s necessarily paranoia to see it that way because there’s so much of it about.
I stopped buying Aunt Jemima products. I prefer the Cinnabon syrup and IHOP syrup sold at Walmart. I never bought Uncle Ben’s even before the change. I used to buy Land-o-Lakes butter, but just buy the store brand now because it’s cheaper. There are no Cracker Barrel’s near me. I don’t make a regular habit of it because I brew my own coffee at home, but I will occasionally buy a cup of Dunkin’ coffee at their store, and brew their original coffee blend at home. I wouldn’t touch Starbucks coffee at all.
There was nothing wrong with Aunt Jemima, or Uncle Ben.
