Green Inferno: Semi-Truck Carrying 8 Teslas Engulfed in Fire on Los Angeles Highway

A semi-truck transporting eight Tesla EVs caught fire on the 5 Freeway in Los Angeles, leading to extensive road closures and significant traffic disruptions on Saturday evening. The Los Angeles Fire Department has not disclosed the cause of the inferno that required a massive team of firefighters to put out.

KTLA reports that a semi-truck carrying a load of Tesla vehicles became engulfed in flames on the southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway in Sylmar, a suburban neighborhood of Los Angeles, at about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) swiftly responded to the scene to combat the blaze which required a massive number of first responders and equipment to contain.

LAFD told Breitbart News that the cause of the fire had not been determined as of Monday morning. This article will be updated when additional information is available.

According to video footage from the incident, the truck was hauling at least eight Tesla vehicles when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle caught fire. The flames rapidly spread, consuming both the truck and several of the cars on the trailer. The intense fire posed a significant challenge for firefighters as they worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to the remaining vehicles.

I find it interesting that the IC had to ask for permission to use foam and gel. The containment was interesting to.

We are anticipating one day having to contain all water/runoff from any fire we fight. Foam and gel are on their way out, both cancer and environmental concern. There’s a push to halt the use of air drop retardant on wildland fires too.

“Seems Tesla is always lying about what their cars pricing will be, and capability. That’s proven.”

Then cite where the are always lying!

Will there be enough water for the fire to be extinguished. Can you even imagine the climate around that fire?

Wow. That was quite a video.

EVs blowing up. Gasoline-powered cars blowing up. No wonder Santa plays it safe and uses reindeer.

I see this.

https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-clarifies-la-car-carrier-fire-started-diesel-semi-not-ev-batteries/

What other source is there.

I’m not saying it wasn’t the cab, but this is just one Tesla source.

“ The third-party logistics (3PL) semi-truck caught fire first. Thankfully, the driver is ok; unfortunately the Teslas sustained damage. We will be looking to replace the vehicles for our intended customers as soon as we can. A very unfortunate accident,” the Tesla VP wrote in a post on X”

From the video, it looks like the diesel truck caught fire first. Then it spread.

I like that diesel fuel is much safer than gasoline, but now diesel worse than EV for igniting at least.

To play it safe, you might want to put one of these on both of your Tesla bumpers. It won’t bother conservatives. But it might save your Tesla from liberal wrath.

(Just kidding, of course.)

Can’t say for sure what happened, but if one of the cars started it, then it’s just one more example in a list of reasons why I don’t want an EV.

I guess the carrier (diesel) had the fire...no matter...the Tesla has a “flaming” reputation.

The ninth car on the back of the truck is undoubtedly, a Honda Civic or a Toyota Corolla

The color of the flames & smoke looked like a diesel fire to me. But I admit that I’m no expert.

When is the last time a gasoline-powered car just sitting there blew up?

In the move “The Irishman”?

I read that it was the diesel truck that had the fire. My point is...it's a reminder of the Tesla fires and besides too damn much money...for me...

who needs to go to bed each night thinking...maybe tonight...
