Actress and conservative influencer Brett Cooper was just profiled in a lengthy piece in The New York Times. Once a star at the Daily Wire, Cooper has now been signed to Fox News. I have bad news for right-wingers waiting for a young messiah for the culture, however. Brett Cooper is not coming to save you. In fact, she will do what every other conservative on TV and social media does—the same thing Cooper, although only 23, has been doing for years.
She’s going to sit behind a microphone and react to liberalism.
What Brett Cooper will not be being doing is writing novels or making music or movies—least not real movies. Like most “personalities” on the right, she will not be creating. She will be reacting.
At some point, conservatives are going to exhaust the supply of “hey-look-at-the-crazy-lefties” commentariat. We’re going to have to make something.

“America First doesn’t always in line with the conservatism, either from economic or culture.”
That’s the point.
American Conservatism needs something to conserve.
I believe that’s the thrust of MAGA.
Your points regarding AF are generally spot on.
BUT . . . (and ya knew there would be a but.)
It’s a Republic for American Citizens, and LEGAL residents, all following our Constitutional order.
Your qualifying statements about gays, muslims, and the hit on Christians are distractions.
Hamas is not welcome in America. Broadly, Islam as a governing order can’t work in Western Civilization. That battle has raged for 2,000 years.
In America, there should be no “license” to get married. (look up the shocking history of it in the US). You do what you want to do.
It’s no business of the government who you share your life with. Children are an entirely separate issue and have not much to do with “marriage” anyway.
Any “benefits” individuals want agree to should be as a contract, enforceable under simple contract law.
I die, you get my stuff.
The old “Moral Majority” is a ghost of it’s past. Too many “Christian Summer Camp” issues to survive.
My friend, it’s an 80/20 issue.
We agree on the 80.
Peace to you.
It’s no business of the government who you share your life with.
Which is why Obergefell v. Hodges was a flawed decision.
“LOL, that made no sense, loved the part where you think America is being filled up with Irishmen and Italians.”
It’s your take on “the immigrant”, referring to current “others”.
Irish and Italian used as Argumentum ad absurdum.
NINA laws. Look em up.
“Gangs of New York” showed it too.
New groups arrive in America all the time.
They should assimilate into America, or be thrown out.
Many do become more American with each generation, all the while retaining parts of their heritage.
It’s what the Democrat Left fears, and why they have to import new groups, and keep them isolated with identity politics, bad public schools, and corrupt dense cities.
“Which is why Obergefell v. Hodges was a flawed decision.”
Agreed.
One of the many reasons why it should be overturned.
It ain’t MAGA to have government rule your life.
I don't care who your partner is and it's none of my business.
Leave it up to the states to decide.
If Texas is not going to recognize a marriage certificate from California, I don't see an issue with that.
The democrats changed the immigration laws under JFKLBJ so that they could replace the American voters, and it worked.
The Gangs of New York was not authentic at all but of course you thought it was history, and how you think it is relevant is puzzling.
You post from historical ignorance on immigration and voting.
I actually don’t have any disagreement with you. Just wanted to elaborate and pointing out one issue that will be pushed to split MAGA, especially if it involves SCOTUS again.
I saw her being interviewed once and she said she speaks to her dead mother.
That is probably the stupidest thing I have read today.
The last time this dumb idea was tried it was in France after their "revolution" and resulted in any number of abandon children.
Any “benefits” individuals want agree to should be as a contract, enforceable under simple contract law.
Oh dear sweet baby cthulhu. What do you think legal marriage is?
I give up.
I award you no points and may the flying spaghetti monster have mercy on your soul.
Then you are historically illiterate.
Okay? I have a few examples. It is up to the states to decide on whether abortion is legal. Another example is the death penalty. Most states have banned it but it's still legal in places like Texas or Oklahoma. Why is "marriage" a federal issue?
Considering that her mother is still alive and well that is quite interesting.
The potential to split MAGA was there with the abortion issue. Most of USA is now pro-choice.
Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr, etc I'm sure that they are all pro-choice. But they realize that ultimately it is a states' rights issue and there are more important things that we should focus on.
In fact you could say it is one of the two main jobs of governments.
Protect the community and enforce contracts.
“”””In America, there should be no “license” to get married. (look up the shocking history of it in the US).””””
Shocking that Jefferson had a marriage license and did divorce law, that George Washington paid for his nephew’s marriage license, that Revolutionary War widows had to be legally married to collect their dead husband’s pension?
“”””The (Christian) conservatives in general are against it””””
What is it that the core MAGA voters are against?
“The predictable: the evangelical vote remained the same nationwide as it had in the past two presidential elections, with about 80% of White evangelical Christians favoring President-elect Donald Trump.”
“post-election research shows that Christian support was crucial in Donald Trump’s 2024 landslide victory, showing that Christians made up 72% of the electorate and gave Trump 56% of their vote.
In comparison, among people of other faiths or no faith, Vice President Kamala Harris was preferred with 60% of the non-Christian vote. Although Harris won a larger share of the non-Christian vote than Trump’s share of the Christian votes, Christians outnumbered non-Christian voters by more than a five-to-two margin—delivering the decisive Nov. 5 victory to President Trump.”
In fact you could say it is one of the two main jobs of governments.
Protect the community and enforce contracts.
It's a bad system. The government is doing their jobs. But in doing so, they are disincentivizing people from getting married and having children. Right now, the birth rate is 1.62 births per woman.
You think that is caused by having to get marriage license?
You think the government should not enforce legal contracts.
Ok, I don't know what to say to you because that is the most blatantly disconnected from reality statement I have heard in weeks.
You think the government should not enforce legal contracts.
Obviously, we need to take a look at what we're doing because right now whatever it is, clearly it is not working.
Abortion has been decided recently so the SCOTUS decision will stay. Gay marriage, however, was decided more than a decade ago and I read there’s an effort to overturned it.
