Then you are historically illiterate.

Okay? I have a few examples. It is up to the states to decide on whether abortion is legal. Another example is the death penalty. Most states have banned it but it's still legal in places like Texas or Oklahoma. Why is "marriage" a federal issue?

Because it is the job of government to enforce contracts.

In fact you could say it is one of the two main jobs of governments.

Protect the community and enforce contracts.
