Emerald Fennell's upcoming Wuthering Heights adaptation has been called 'aggressively provocative' and will feature a BDSM-inspired sex scene.
The upcoming adaptation of Emily Bronte's classic novel sees Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi portray doomed lovers Catherine and Heathcliff.
But those expecting a faithful adaptation of the beloved work may be in for a rude awakening as Fennell's upcoming film is said to lean into the 'stylised depravity' she has become known for after directing Saltburn.

Actually the libs mostly hate 50 Shades. It’s built on the kind of rape fantasy stuff (she was unwilling to do the... things... but then learned to like it) the womens has hated for decades.

But for a while they promoted the movie. Like this: 5 Things to Do While You’re Waiting for 50 Shades of Grey to Come Out, and 4 Ways Fifty Shades is a ripped-off version of Secretary. Their knee-jerk reaction was anything sex, even BDSM, was cool. Perhaps because the Christians were so against it.

It’s Regietheater. Taken from East German directors in the 1960’s, it pushes social activism of what the director wants (smut) and destroys the message of classical literature, theater, et al. Heather MacDonald’s “The Abduction of Opera” is a must read regarding the issue.
Regietheater has destroyed so many great works.
