FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. -- A 42-year-old Fort Walton Beach man was arrested on July 29 for burglary at Florida Power & Light on September 8, 2024.
The Fort Walton Beach Police Department responded to a reported burglary on Hollywood Boulevard NW around 4:35 a.m.
Officers say an employee reported a power outage affecting approximately 5,600 clients since 1:30 a.m.
The outage resulted in multiple hours of overtime for FPL employees working to restore service.
During the investigation, officers recovered a cold can of alcohol at the scene, which was submitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for forensic analysis. The DNA results identified Michael Hall as a suspect.
Detectives interviewed Hall, and the combination of DNA evidence and the interview led to his arrest.
Hall faces charges for tampering with critical infrastructure under Florida State Statute 812.141 (2)(b).
He is currently being held in Okaloosa County jail with a $2000 bond.
Santa Rosa Mall is being torn down and will close permanently next month. Most of it has already been demolished and condos built there. The rest will be demolished and the great Mall will be just a memory.
Likewise the Dunes Motel and the Blue Room Restaurant are nothing but faded memories now.............

Nowadays you can get all kinds of alcoholic beverages besides beer in cans...............
I hate to hear that.
Thanks for the info.
Yes ... that’s why they should specify.
1) Facts are the most important part of reporting
2) Regardless of the specific beverage, the primary ingredient in the contents is WATER. Not alcohol.
ONLY $2000.
SHOULD BE $2 MILLION
In the result of burglarizing the place, he probably threw a few switches he shouldn’t have, or some other stupidity. From the picture, he doesn’t look too bright. His bail should have been a bit higher considering the damage he did...say $2,000,000. At first, I figured this all happened because of trying to acquire some contraband copper wire.
