A mysterious object moving through the solar system has caught the attention of Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb, who believes it could be more than just a comet—and possibly an alien spacecraft. The interstellar body, designated 3I/ATLAS, was first spotted on July 1 and is now under close observation due to its unusual characteristics.
Loeb, known for his provocative theories on extraterrestrial life, says the object’s path raises serious questions. It travels on a rare retrograde orbit, meaning it moves against the solar system’s flow, and aligns closely with the orbital plane of Earth and other inner planets. He estimates the chances of such a natural alignment at just 0.2 percent.
He warns that if the object is artificial, it could carry probes or even hostile technology. Based on current trajectory calculations, 3I/ATLAS is expected to pass behind the sun in October and could potentially approach Earth between November 21 and December 5, 2025.
Loeb warns of a possible threat and timeline “The visitor is already in our backyard,” Loeb said, emphasizing the need to prepare for both peaceful and dangerous scenarios.
Loeb has described the object as a potential “mothership,” capable of deploying smaller devices to investigate or interact with habitable planets. He said this strategy would allow probes to reach targets like Earth while the main craft continues toward another star.

As part of his response plan, Loeb has published three pre-print research papers and proposed that NASA attempt to intercept it using the Juno spacecraft during the object’s passage near Jupiter. He also called for the creation of an interstellar risk scale ranging from zero for natural comets to ten for confirmed technological artifacts.
To prevent public panic, he argues that governments should form multidisciplinary task forces, including scientists, policymakers, and psychologists, to plan for any eventual disclosure.
Skepticism from other astronomers Not all astronomers support his theory. Chris Lintott, a professor at the University of Oxford, dismissed the alien spacecraft suggestion as “nonsense on stilts.” He told Live Science that such claims undermine serious research into the nature of 3I/ATLAS.
Despite criticism, Loeb remains firm. The object, estimated to be about 12 miles wide, is large for something entering from beyond the solar system. He points out that if this were a natural event, scientists should have detected many similar cases by now—but haven’t.
At its current speed of nearly 60 miles per second relative to Earth, 3I/ATLAS is too fast for any existing spacecraft to intercept. Loeb admits that if it turns out to be artificial, little can be done. Still, he believes the risk justifies a warning.
He compared the situation to Pascal’s wager, noting that it’s safer to prepare for the worst-case scenario, even if the object turns out to be harmless.

When He reigns again, it will be for eternity, not some mean little chunk of a thousand years.
The thousand years and eternity are not mutually exclusive.
The book of Revelation specifically mentions the thousand years six times. The thousand years are important enough for the Holy Spirit to mention the thousand years six times in two chapters.
As far as that goes, what about the 6000 years man has been here (according to the Bible)? What is 6000 years compared to eternity? Nothing. Yet the Bible is devoted almost entirely to that 6000 years. Christ's reign will make it 7000 years. What happens here on earth including Christ's 1000 year reign must be very important to God.
If it lands in Chino Hills...I’ll stock up on underpants.

I’ll take what the scripture plainly says in Revelation 20.
The judgment of the living and the dead will take place on the great white throne (Rev. 20:11), “after the thousand years are expired” (Rev. 20:7).
I got to thinking about this in a discussion with family and had to search for this article, eventually resting on your post, which i hadn’t read until just now.
This is supposed to wizz by in October of this year.
There is another object forcast to wizz by us on April 13th, 2029. Apophis. It is estimated 1700+ feet long and while still millions of miles away, is forecast to wizz by us a mere 19,000 away, within the orbit of our geostationary satellites (ref wiki entry). Not comforting, considering the inability to accurately forecast hurricane landfall when one is 200 miles away.
Then another thought occurred to me. How much time between these two events?...11/21/2025 to 04/13/2029?
1270 days...three and a half years
If it flys by on October 31st it will be EXACTLY 3.5 later when apophis arrives.
BTW...Apophis “the ancient Greek name for an ancient Egyptian deity called “Apep”—also spelled “Apepi” or “Aapep”—who was seen as the embodiment of chaos and the opponent of light and order in the cosmos. The deity is also associated with earthquakes, thunder, darkness, storms, death and was generally considered to be the greatest force of evil in Egyptian theology.”
So... there’s that to ponder over as we sleep
The difference between 13 Atlas and Apophis: the first is interstellar and the second local;
I3’s closest approach is as it is moving Away from Earth, while Apophis closest approach is while it is moving Toward Earth.
Unless I3 changes course [ and then all bets are off ], it will not even come as close to Earth as to Mars, Venus, and later Jupiter. Apophis, on the other hand, does stand a chance of hitting Earth, especially since its orbit may be nudged by another object hitting it, between the last observation and the crossing of Earth’s orbit.
Apophis is a local random rock, while I3 is from some other solar system om the galaxy. Objects like Apophis are to be expected, while I3 is not. I3 has so many improbabilities that simply should not occur randomly, which is why many are questioning the establishment’s label of ‘comet’.
Until it is known for certain [ something we may never know ] that it is just an interstellar comet like 2I/Borisov, don’t rule out that it could be a device made by someone else for unknown purposes.

Yup.
After Armageddon (Rev. 19:11-21), Christ’s 1000-year reign with the saints, followed by the Great White Throne of judgment of the unsaved.
The Great White Throne is a difficult thing to ponder - so many will be sent to the eternal lake of fire - hard to image, really.
Thank God so many are and will be saved forever simply by receiving Jesus.
His mercy and his judgment.
3I/ATLAS is the third interstellar object confirmed passing through the Solar System, after 1I/ʻOumuamua (discovered in October 2017) and 2I/Borisov (discovered in August 2019).
And we all know that the Ramans do everything in threes!!!
