If it feels like something’s changed between your generation and your father’s and grandfather’s, science may back you up.
Recent data reveals a startling truth: young men today have significantly lower testosterone levels than their counterparts from just two decades ago. In fact, according to U.S. national health survey data, testosterone levels in men aged 15 to 39 have declined by approximately 25% since 1999.
A Shocking Trend Backed by Research
The data comes from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), a long-running program that tracks public health trends. Between 1999 and 2016, the average total testosterone levels in young men dropped from around 605 ng/dL to just 451 ng/dL. Even when accounting for lifestyle factors such as obesity, smoking, and physical activity, the trend remained consistent (NHANES source).
And this isn’t an isolated finding. The Massachusetts Male Aging Study, which tracked men aged 45 to 79 over nearly two decades, also recorded a generational decline in testosterone levels independent of age. In this study, median testosterone levels dropped from approximately 501 ng/dL in the late 1980s to 392 ng/dL by the early 2000s (MMAS study).

Go back to 1968 and the murder of Presidential Contender Bobby Kennedy by a PALESTINIAN IMMIGRANT. The news media attacked “ masculinity in boys” as one of the causes of such violence, along with guns, toy guns, movies and TV shows.”
End result was the 1968 Gun Control Law, toy guns disappeared from stores, movies went to a joke of a rating system(GMRX), TV shows dumbed down to kiddie shows, and schools decided to drug up boys to reduce their masculinity and make them more “feminine.”
Well, here we are after after 57 years of drugging kids.
Do you really think that Siron was the one who shot Kennedy? Some of the Kennedy relatives don’t think so.
Soy anything and making out with blue hairs out of desperation — that’ll do it.
Ya think maybe farm and industrial chemicals that saturate our food and every aspect of earth’s environment might have something to do with it?
Yep, no more “This is my rifle, this is my gun.....”
In my neck of the woods, the ultimate score was a keg. “Kegger out at The Springs!! Harold came through again!” Word spread fast, and suddenly, out at The Springs, twenty or so teenagers in various states of summer attire, would gather. We’d swim, drink beer, play horseshoes, make out. talk, frisbee toss, etc. for hours. Sometimes the girls would bring sandwiches. It was a much simpler, and much happier, world, I can tell you!
To allow kids to play with toy guns in these times in public would be irresponsible.
I left out smoking pot, riding dirt bikes, drinking cheap beer around a camp fire and generally trying/doing almost anything we could think of.
Including hold my beer.
The other thing was that my neighborhood growing up in the suburbs of Buffalo was full of kids. EVERY family had at least three kids. Most of us were Catholics. So, we could have pickup baseball, football, etc and always have 4-6 on each team.

Re: Normal levels
Normal levels are most often **optimal** levels. Both my husband and I see a geriatric specialist, and replacement therapy has made a big difference in our lives.
Oop!
Normal levels are most often NOT optimal levels.
