Epstein was a mathematical savant, which is how he came to the attention of Wexler who, among other things, owned Victoria’s Secret. It was Wexler who gave Epstein a personal referral to Bear-Stearns, where it took Epstein 4 years to become a “limited partner.”
There are “idiot-savants” in many fields, including mathematics and engineering, both of which Epstein excelled in. If you can do math and engineering at those levels, many places will waive the degree requirement.
