A tale of two "stars".

One Olivia Newton John(RIP) stayed classy, the other John Travolta has an aura of being a publicity hound in his later years.

Never thought Travolta was an A list actor. Some great roles and good performances, that’s about it.

He’s 70. How often do megastar actors maintain such a high level of movie sales up to that age?

Wasn’t his career already dead once for over a decade?

I really enjoyed watching him in The Punisher. Especially his last two minutes on screen.

This is the 3rd time for him to drop. Had his first big time on Welcome Back Kotter & Saturday Night Fever, then dropped out with bombs like Staying alive and others.

Had a comeback with Look Who’s Talking and a couple others then dropped down again.

Made a third comeback with Pulp Fiction.

Just £138 or $A287? Pocket change? A movie only made that!?

His latest films, High Rollers and Mob Land, barely registered with audiences — the latter pulling just £138 ($A287) at the UK box office, News.com.au reported.

I thought this was sort of a typo. I figured it was a number of thousands or (unlikely) a number of millions. But wikipedia has a similar number -- Mob Land grossed $171 dollars. I have more than that in my wallet right now.

Give me a break. He’s 70, still employed as an actor, with one helluva resume.

Everybody goes up and down. Hilarious that the “article” mentions Pulp Fiction, without bothering to realize his career was considered OVER before that movie. It provided his second wave. And yes now he’s making low budget movies that are largely direct to video. That’s how careers go. And frankly Olivia Newton John had basically no career after the 80s, just nostalgia tours really. Which is fine. That’s life for famous people.

Travolta’s recent string of “straight to streaming” movies is to be expected at his stage of career.
For many people, John’s first fall from grace would be a somewhat forgotten film he did after a series of huge earners, the movie was “Moment by Moment”, co starring
Lily Tomlin.

It was a May-December Rom Com, with Lily playing the older, wiser woman. I have always liked both actors. I thought the movie was okay. Never meant to be anything profound.
Most critics hated it, and considered those two as Not Credible, Not Believable as a romantic pair.
This was late 70s or early 80s.

I would pay to see him kick the crap out of Robert De Niro in a movie.
