"But I’m bound by confidentiality,” See, this is why I would never be allowed to get to a position of real importance. Because if I were in Dershowitz's shoes, I would 100% throw caution to the wind and shout out all the names I had. I would spill it all. Damn the consequences. I think it's shameful that this old man isn't doing that.

Jewish people live a long time, on average, secular as well as religious. (Think Hyman Roth dyig of the same condition for 20+ years) If Dershowitz were on his death bed, it might be easier. Why tell us he has the names if he won't tell us what they are? Clicks?

He doesn’t do it because of a health problem.
He wants to keep it.

The problem is that he would have had to sign all kinds of non-disclosure statements with the us.cia in order to be allowed to represent Epstein. Breach is a felony - jail, fines, law license gone....

And then you would be sued into penury for slander because the list wouldn’t ever be available to use as proof you wweren’t slandering them.

See, this is why... This is why this is BS. If Dershowitz knows, then others know. And this would not even be some kind of secret. Put up or shut up.

He highly, highly values his identity and reputation as a lawyer.
Which identity would vanish instantly if he were to break confidentiality.
To: ClearCase_guy
Exactly. At his age, who cares if he is disbarred? He would be subject to all sorts of slander lawsuits that would keep him busy the rest of his days.
Maybe he could leave the list out on a table at a restaurant…and the waiter could find it and send it to the NY Post.

Virginia Giuffre had accused Dershowitz of being one of Epstein's clients, and sued him for defamation. He countersued her, and there was some settlement. Likely, as the result of that litigation, Dershowitz obtained the confidential information, and he is likely under a court order to remain silent. Congress, of course, can subpoena him to testify about the matter, in which case the court order doesn't apply, and I think he wants to do that. So, if you want the truth to come out, contact your congresscritters to demand that Dershowitz testify before Congress.

One of the major problems with our legal system is that lawyers are advocates for their clients, and not objective officers of the court insuring their clients are treated fairly.
No, a lawyer's job is to make certain their clients don't get "fair" treatment, but that they get exonerated, even if they are absolutely guilty.
The legal system should not function like this. Everyone in it should behave in such a manner as produces the most just outcome, not to just let their clients get away with their misdeeds.

You’re not in that position.
Why play fantasy and deal in the reality of the situation.
Maybe it’s none of anyone’s business.

(Quietly) release the names to a third party. Ensure there is no way to track back to Dershowitz.
Bang. Zoom. Mission accomplished.
