Are you talking g about the Christopher Reeves one?
Yes. Top 10 movie.
Gene Hackman always kills it.
Mr. Lew Thor
The pacing is perfect.
I was about nine when my father took me to see it. Told him I hated it - “it was a stupid love story!” were my exact words. I still dislike it to this day. Was a big disappointment to a nine year old boy 2 years into comic books like the Hulk, Spiderman, Fantastic Four etc.
To this day I love John Williams’ score. One of his best ever!
I’m not a comic guy, but Superman was meh to me. And Christopher Reeve was made up to look feminized.
Spider-Man is THE best superhero. Stan Lee put it best. “ He’s the one who’s most like me - nothing ever turns out 100 percent OK; he’s got a lot of problems, and he does things wrong, and I can relate to that.”
An excellent example of how good a “superhero” movies can be.
These days, they’re garbage for the attention deficit disordered.
Agreed!
(Sorry, but THIS is Superman.)
I liked Kirk Alyn as Superman.
Ah yes. We were allowed to say truth, justice, and the American way back then.
Maybe off topic, but it is nice to be able to see old movies and TV shows, which were made before the era of political correctness.
🤣
You mean, back when most Movies were good
I was going to say I watched the TV show as a kid. So when Christopher Reeves brought it to big screen, it wasn’t a really big deal to me. It was kind of funny to see how they updated the times, no closet phone booths. But the movie was just ok. I guess for me it had to compete with Star Wars, which was an impossible task.
In retrospect, I have to say I like it better than any of the Superman remakes since. Hollywood seems to think they have to recycle things and make them darker or have some shock value, like Superman has a super kid or some woke side.
Hollywood ruined the latest Star Trek movies with the young James Kirk the same way, changing all the time times, openly gay crew members, and destroying the TOS story rather than finding ways to fill in the time gaps to the original series.
1978 began a new era.
First GPS satellite launched.
First episode of Dallas airs.
ATORY NOT CGI!
