(Sorry, but THIS is Superman.)
I liked Kirk Alyn as Superman.
Ah yes. We were allowed to say truth, justice, and the American way back then.
Maybe off topic, but it is nice to be able to see old movies and TV shows, which were made before the era of political correctness.
🤣
I was going to say I watched the TV show as a kid. So when Christopher Reeves brought it to big screen, it wasn’t a really big deal to me. It was kind of funny to see how they updated the times, no closet phone booths. But the movie was just ok. I guess for me it had to compete with Star Wars, which was an impossible task.
In retrospect, I have to say I like it better than any of the Superman remakes since. Hollywood seems to think they have to recycle things and make them darker or have some shock value, like Superman has a super kid or some woke side.
Hollywood ruined the latest Star Trek movies with the young James Kirk the same way, changing all the time times, openly gay crew members, and destroying the TOS story rather than finding ways to fill in the time gaps to the original series.
....and who, disguised as Clark Kent, (who spoke like Superman, was never in the same place as Superman, and looked like Superman with glasses)...fights a never ending...
All others?
Good actors (some, anyhoo) but pretenders.
And hottie love interest Lois Lane…
I must agree, watched him in the mid-50’s on the TV series, B/W, when I came home from Elementary school.
When I watch the old Superman, and hear that intro, I also remember....
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a frog!
Not bird or plane or even frog,
It’s just little oLd me...UNDERDOG!
Yep!
