Dramatic CCTV footage from the eastern city of Lahore showed how the big cat leapt over a concrete wall and chased the woman down as terrified onlookers ran for safety.
The woman and her children, aged five and seven, sustained injuries to their arms and faces but are now in stable condition, authorities said.
Police have accused the lion's owners of keeping a wild animal without a licence and negligence leading to its escape. The lion was captured and moved to a wildlife park.
Big cats as pets are a status symbol in Pakistan, where it is legal to keep lions, cheetahs, tigers, pumas and jaguars after registering them and paying a one-time fee of 50,000 rupees ($176; £129) per animal.
However, such cats must be housed outside city limits.

Pakistan is the type of place where I really can’t imagine living.
It just wanted to play.
You just have to stop lion about it.
That registration fee is a bargain. I may apply. My retriever, Rhett, may not be as enthusiastic
Never buy second-hand lions.....................
Couldn’t be a lion from Detroit. They never make a kill.

As the Brits are quickly finding out, if you don’t want to go to Pakistan, Pakistan will go to you.
I wonder if Pakistanis in the UK are allowed to keep lions and such. I would think so. After all, denying them that right would be insulting to their culture. And as we all know, all cultures are equal.

Events like this happen in America too.
Just one month ago, a Zebra named Ed escaped from his owner in Tennessee, and was on the run for at least eight days.
A helicopter was used to drop a net over Ed, scoop him up and airlift him to safety.
Reminds me of the people who get a baby chimpanzee as a “pet.”
“It’s so cuuuuute”
If you feed the chimpanzee, it becomes much larger. Large enough and strong enough to do.......well.......what a chimpanzee does.
What was the name of that Tiger Act in Las Vegas? The trainers and 500 pound tigers lived together on the large estate. There were huge beds where the trainers and tigers slept together. One day, one of the tigers decided to......behave like a tiger. It sunk its teeth into the neck of one of the trainers.

Maybe Pakistan won’t look so bad relatively in a bit.
The first sign something was up was when the owners were walking up and down the street singing a Bruce Cockburn song.
Years ago I was talking to a woman who lived in an apartment building up in Toronto. She said one day the ceiling in her living room started leaking water and then all the drywall on the ceiling fell down. Turns out, the Pakistani immigrants living up stars were growing vegetables on the floor of their living room.

A zebra might eat your tomato plants, but it isn’t going the chew your face off.

"Never own a pet where if you forget to feed it, it will eat you."
I once told a leopard trainer at a circus that I had heard that leopards are being adopted as pets. He said that he has been training leopards for years and could not imagine having one as a pet. A lion must be worse.
