Jaguar Pulls Ahead of Bud Light in Race to Oblivion
Moonbattery ^ | July 2, 2025 | Dave Blount

Posted on 07/02/2025 1:54:15 PM PDT by Morgana

It was previously reported that Jaguar lagged behind Bud Light. But having thrown moonbattery into overdrive, it soon pulled ahead:

Jaguar sales in Europe plunged a shocking 97.5% following a botched rebrand that included a commercial featuring men in skirts to announce its upcoming pivot toward an all-electric fleet…

The luxury British automaker registered just 49 vehicles in Europe in April, compared with 1,961 vehicles in the same month last year, according to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association.

Sales between January and April plummeted 75.1%, with just 2,665 cars sold across the continent.

Don’t expect the company to pull a 180° when it finally manages to get its flagship $200,000 four-door EV into dealerships late in the year.

Who would have guessed that ads like the one below did not inspire people to blow a fortune on a Jaguar?

Electric vehicles and pushily diverse nonbinary creepiness were supposed to be the future. Fortunately, the future social engineers planned for us has been canceled.

Only question is... which is more disconcerting. The freaks or the stupidity.

Didn't the Enterprise visit this planet, and in the end Kirk decided that for the good of the galaxy, he had to nuke it from orbit?

No.

It was photon torpedoes, not nukes.

Is this like Mel Brooks’ The Producers where it’s actually some sort of _plan_ to tank the company?

One could surmise that Jaguar hired another Harvard “Marketing Guru”

Well, they hired a "guru" but he's not from Harvard. I think. It was this guy, as you might have imagined. You can find his speech online, so glam, so stunning and brave, and of course the only thing that matters is ... you know what.

In 2012 wife and I were looking at high end cars to buy. Compared to other brands Jaguar looked bulky and somewhat ugly.

So I am not surprised to see that someone has written a commentary comparing Jaguar and Bud Lite.

Lousy cars and lousy beer.

I didn’t think the XK coupe to be all that unattractive, but that XF sedan was beaten with an ugly stick. Even if it hadn’t been the successor to the XJ sedan, it was still awful on it’s own.

Take a car brand notorious for electrical system problems and make it all electric. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, they have had a rough history since the 1970s, but you have to ascribe it to the responsible parties. My wife had a 1986 XJ-L that was a nice car when it ran, but an unreliable piece of s*** most of the time. Her Jaguar repair specialist made sure to send her birthday and Christmas cards, because she was such a good, steady revenue source. That car was made in the waning days of British Jaguar. In 1990 Ford bought the company and had some success in improving the build quality, but made major errors like the X-Type. During the recession in 2008 Ford sold Jaguar (losing $ billions in the process) to India’s Tata Motors. They are the ones who committed brand suicide with this ad campaign.

Was there actually a Star Trek episode where Captain Kirk launched torpedoes at a planet for the good of the galaxy? If there was, what’s the title so I can go watch it .

I laughed out loud at your comment, only because Hyundai first got traction by copying the “look” of other popular cars. I had a Jaguar S-Type at one point, then later saw a Hyundai Genesis was virtually identical outside the logos. Hyundai also had cars that looked like models of popular Mercedes and BMW.

When companies are dying, they need to get back to basics that made them successful in the first place. Stop the gimmicks and ignore the fads.

“A Taste of Armageddon” is the only episode from the original series that I am aware of where there Enterprise is brought to the brink of destroying a planet.

A ship’s phaser is brought down to planet’s surface and destroys a rocky hillock in “The Cage” / “The Menagerie.”

The ship’s phasers _are_ used to stun a bunch Oxmyx’s gangsters on the planet surface in “A Piece of the Action.”

In “The Apple” Mr. Scott uses the ship’s phasers on Vaal, a giant machine, to free the Enterprise from a tractor-beam-type hold.

There may be other, similar incidents from the Original Series. But those are the big ones I remember.

At least they were honest about their rebrand and pivot to electric. It’s gay and virtue signaling.

“Jaguar has been in the process of retooling their factories for EV production.”

Go woke, go broke. Some of their last ICE models looked good. Probably couldn’t afford them.
