How so? It’s not the end of the world to get better software.
The only thing I would add is a “Reply to All” button in each thread.
“Newer” does not equal “better”.
This is particularly true of software.
Want to the to back at the end of the thread.
Want to easily upload pics and documents.
Want to easily be able to respond to all or multiple people on a thread.
Want a better private mail
Want the look and feel to remain the same. Cleanest site around.
It would be great if there were a way to edit or delete posts. Apart from that, everything is fine.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
K.I.S.S.
Only if the market for your product changes. If the market changes, then your statement holds true. But if the market your product addresses remains largely stable, then changing your product is how you die.
See New Coke, etc.
My observation is that Conservatives don't spend all their time chasing the Latest New Shiny Thing, and don't embrace Change For Its Own Sake.
It works just fine on this here Commodore 64. Especially since I just got an AOL disc with a thousand free hours.
I wonder if exposure to enough software can make a human being a Zombie.
Start your own site and do it however you want to.
Candidly, I like the interface….it makes me smarter by knowing about html coding.”
It is less fun since they coded it to force closed any html commands that posters forgot to close.
Yes that’s true but there’s all sorts of new software tools that are better than 1995 HTML
A like button would be welcome too.
You completely missed the point of my thread. The point was that there’s new tools and new interfaces that make existing platforms better.

Several Factoids
Freerepublic is very user friendly.
Also, Freerepublic is very user friendly.
I worked at a huuuuge grocery store. Several times the “efficiency experts” would arrive. They would not talk to any of us. We had a great boss who would tell us to calm down. He stated that as soon as the “experts” were gone, we would once again go back to what works best for us, and for the customers.
And, in closing
Freerepublic is very user friendly.
As a developer I think it is great! Too many moving parts and you are going to have more trouble. Simple and “light” without unneeded bloat is the best way to go. All the window dressing in the world doesn’t make the text any better or worse. The text is what we are actually here for right?
