He’s not right. We didn’t declare war. We didn’t consult Congress when we got Sulamani either.

Shawn Hannity just said Trump told him six Bunker Buster bombs were used at Fordow.

Ok. I'm replying to this garbage. Obama sent cash, and would have never done this.

Forty-six years of attacks and we are not supposed to do anything? This crap ends tonight. I'm been around since the 90's and backed down some because of the vitriol spewed on this site, but not now. RandFan, you are one of the worst ever.

Get out of our country if you aren’t smart enough to understand what is going on.

Agreed 100%. I was cussing out Carter for some 45 years all the way to his coffin 6 months ago when he finally croaked. Our nation has never recovered from this until today.

Of course you are. I would have been nearly certain of this even if your screen name was "John Q. Smith."

But it makes Bolton, John McCain, Tel Aviv, AIPAC and Lindsey Graham super happy.

Those losers are not happy unless it’s boots on the ground and prolonged conflict. Trump does not sanction that.

I don’t know whether you can copy and paste from Wikipedia at this length, but this is taken from article on First Barbary War, the first American war outside the hemisphere:J

Jefferson made it clear that he was “unauthorized by the constitution, without the sanction of Congress, to go beyond the line of defense.” He told Congress: “I communicate [to you] all material information on this subject, that in the exercise of this important function confided by the constitution to the legislature exclusively their judgment may form itself on a knowledge and consideration of every circumstance of weight.”[37] Although Congress never voted on a formal declaration of war, it authorized the President to instruct the commanders of armed American vessels to seize all vessels and goods of the Pasha of Tripoli “and also to cause to be done all such other acts of precaution or hostility as the state of war will justify.” The American squadron joined a Swedish flotilla under Rudolf Cederström in blockading Tripoli, the Swedes having been at war with the Tripolitans since 1800.[citation needed]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Barbary_War

FJB sent $350,000,000,000 in war funding to Ukraine. Was that “constitutional?”...were open borders constitutional?

OK that's your second post on the same topic.

What's your point? That the Constitution is no longer in effect?

What conclusions do you draw from the phantom Biden presidency going forward?

“...no Republican voted for Obamacare.”

And republicans never voted to repeal any part of KenyanKare in the first two years of President Trump’s first term either. Elephants never forget.

For those who are interested, the Supreme Court has parsed the war powers issue many times. In essence, the President has inherent power under the Constitution to act as commander in chief, while Congress alone has the power to declare war and appropriate funds for military use.

If Congress wanted to prevent the President from using military force without Congressional approval, they can pass legislation and appropriations restrictions to that effect, with the President nevertheless still able to act as commander in chief under the Constitution.

As it happens, in bombing Iran's nuclear facilities, President has done the right thing at the right time in the right way. How often does Congress accomplish that?

The last time the US declared war was after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
