R. Kelly allegedly overdosed in prison and was rushed to the hospital last week.
In court documents obtained by The Post, the rapper’s attorney, Beau B. Brindley, claimed that Bureau of Prisons staff at his federal center in Butner, North Carolina intentionally gave him too much medication, which caused him to overdose and be transferred to a nearby hospital.
The lawyer alleged that Kelly was forced to take mediation in solitary confinement on the night of June 12.
The next morning, Kelly allegedly felt “faint” and “dizzy” and “started to see black spots in his vision.” The rapper also allegedly “tried to get up, but fell to the ground,” before he “crawled to the door of the cell and lost consciousness.”
Kelly was taken by ambulance to Duke University Hospital, his attorney said.
While Kelly was in the ambulance, he allegedly heard a prison officer say, “This is going to open a whole new can of worms.”

The local prison has billboards up. Starting pay is $22/hr. One of my renters got the covid lockdown for the second time with no pay. Interviewed at the prison, started next day in the middle of a pay period. Not a lot of background checks, I’d guess.

Ambulance driver, drive really, really slow!
I spent 5 years in my church’s prison ministry here in north Florida going into several different facilities in that time.....some of the guards I saw didn’t look like they could’ve done much in a bad situation.
At the check-in sallyport of every facility there is a posting on the wall titled “Don’t be one of these”.
Mugshots of people caught attempting to bring contraband in....8 times out of ten it was a prison guard, and as many females as males.
Usually it was one of two things, drugs or cell phones.
Like you said, at $22 an hour you get what you pay for.
That narrows it down. Like saying meet me at the race track. I’ll be the one in the ball cap. 😎
Why do I get them impression this was staged?
Just last week his lawyer was claiming that there was a hit out on him by the guards at the prison and now all of a sudden he’s overdosed?
He’s trying to get home confinement.
R Kelly wants a free pass out of prison. He did the crimes but doesn’t want to be held accountable for his crimes he chose to commit.
If it works, P Diddy will do same when he is locked up.
He believes he can fly.
I wonder if there will be a follow-up piece with the hospital’s findings.
R. Kelly didn’t kill himself.
