How To Resolve The Trump Musk Feud
Vanity | 6/4/2025 | Vanity

In politics, they say you want your people all peeing out of the tent rather than into it.

In this context, there is a case to be made for assigning Elon Musk a new task to keep his mind off the budget and keep him focused and on point.

Here is the assignment. Give him a contract to develop the desalination technology that will increase the habitable size of the USA by one-third and double the habitable size of the Earth. This can be achieved by collapsing the cost of desalinating seawater to roughly $ 200 per acre-foot. (That would make it economic to farm any desert on earth and place data and server farms-- as well as mango and avocado orchards--in the US deserts.) And if Musk wants to, he can make the technology dual-use. That is, the technology will work on both Earth and Mars.

Do you think this project would achieve the political ends mentioned above while advancing Trump's policy aims?

Musk is acting like a spoiled brat. He has lived the elitist life to the fullest and is picking the wrong fight.

Ignore it. It was just a brief blip on the radar. Gone before you knew it.

Was changing channels last night and saw 2-3 seconds of some woman on a leftist news panel trying to keep her broad grin from turning into a huge smile as she held herself back from a shout of glee and a cartwheel over the desk. 🤸‍♀️

Not what I ever want to see.

The Dems are happiest since seeing the dozens of judges cut down Trump the past few weeks.

My late grandmother, when seeing a self-centered brat:
“I’d like to wipe that smile off his face.”

Nothing needs to be resolved.

Billionaires in the past have gone after Trump. Nothing new, nothing achieved by them.

Trump has endured wicked attacks on his person for many years. It has no effect.

Let them go after each other. It will go nowhere.

The people are smarter than many realize. It will be fun watching the media and democrats try to make something out of nothing.

Musk is acting like a spoiled brat.

IMO he is acting scared. He may have just realized that by being a patriot and working with the people's choice, he has alienated every leftist in the U.S. if not the entire world.

I think what happened is that Elon really does believe he’s President..which he is NOT..and even as President he has ZERO say in what bills Congress passes..even if Trump and Elon agreed on EVERYTHING it would not change the fact that kind of bill would NEVER EVER pass the damn Congress or Senate they would need 60 votes will NEVER HAPPEN..also heard Miranda Divine on Fox News claim that Elon shoved Scott Bessent over what not sure..so yeah Trump chose to defend Bessent

Of course commies are happy they hope the bill dies in the Senate, they would love nothing more than to see taxes go up for EVERYONE, so that they can take back the House and impeach Trump on day 1, there would be no hearings they would just impeach him

If he lied or cheated on his application for original legal status, he could be booted.

“IMO he is acting scared.”

That’s pretty damned funny. I’ve rarely seen a public figure so blasé and indifferent to public opinion as Musk. And being the world’s richest man would tend to isolate him from the security concerns of mere mortals.

I believe that Musk had different expectations in the budget process and sort of unwound when it didn't go they way he wanted.

But Musk is relatively new to politics and is learning some hard facts. No one can run a government the way they can run a private company. And as much as I would like to see the budget slashed and the work of DOGE to become law, it's not possible with this Congress.

In my view both Musk and Trump love America and both have made great sacrifices to make America better. But they disagree on how it can be accomplished. But Trump is the one who won the job, and has earned the right to do it his way.
