Unlike your Polish Great Uncle's family, it has become damned near IMPOSSIBLE to get out of RSA, which has been true for several decades now. OTOH, many Afrikaners DID leave, by hook or crook, 30 and even 20+ years ago.
Prior to Mandela, the army was placed on ALL of RSA's borders to keep the ILLEGAL ALIEN BLACKS, from nearby nations, from coming in.
Mandela relaxed it somewhat, then that practice was stopped completely, so there has been an influx of blacks, from other nations, who NEVER lived under Apartheid, to get in and stay.
When it was still allowed, the Brits and a few other Commonwealth nations allowed white RSAers, who could PROVE that they were descended from Brits, to emigrate, but NOBODY else. That all stopped a while back.

What you posted left out RSA's VISA system and the FACT that NO nation will take in an Afrikaner, just like that, now; nor in the recent past!
So read the following and LEARN the facts!
First of all, you need a visa to leave; tourist AND to leave permanently! The RSA VISA SYSTEM is based on a LOTTERY SYSTEM! You must buy a ticket for every person leaving. They aren't cheap. And it is unusual for everyone in a family to win a ticket.
Secondly, there is a LIMIT on how much money and stuff ( jewelry, etc. ) one is allowed to take out of the country and yes, people are checked! If you think our TSA people are bad, multiply that by the nth degree there.
So, are they still SOME ways to get out? Yes, there are! Get hired by a world wide/international company, or a foreign university or college to teach something that you are THE world's expert in and they will do ALL of the paper work, which will allow you to take a wife or husband and children under the age or 18 or 19 ( not positive about the cutoff, but NOT adult kids! ) with you. But you will still have to leave most of your money, pension plans and valuables behind and then do your best to stay in whatever nation the company of Uni/college has sent you to.
I just realized why the British destroyed South Africa. Because they hated the Boars, who they regarded as crude, rural, racist farmers. The Brits did not farm much in South Africa. They tended to live in the cities, and were much more involved in finance and banking. (parasites) They had a war with the Boars circa 1900.
So UK British logic went - Destroy South Africa with sanctions and boycotts, in order to destroy the Boars who we hate. Elevate communist Mandela and the Blacks into running South Africa. Ruin the place, even though a few million British origin people live there.

I have just one quibble with you, but not really your fault, I guess. The word is spelled B O E R; it's the Afrikaanes ( the name of the language that Afrikaners speak ) word for "farmer". Not all, nor even the majority of Afrikaners are farmers. Many are biologist, doctors, dentists, scientists, engineers of all kinds, CPAs, experts in many different fields, University profs ( NOT THE WOKE KIND ) authors,veterinarians, cattle breeders...you name it. They ALL speak and read a minimum of two different languages ( Afrikaanes and English ) and more often than not at least one tribal language.

The Dutch are excellent farmers at home and in USA too. Many live in Michigan. Tulip festivals there. New Holland is a major manufacturer of farm equipment.
