In a high-profile incident reported by the Korean Central News Agency, North Korea's attempt to launch a warship became a fiasco under the watchful eyes of Kim Jong-un.
The supreme leader attended the impressive unveiling of the 5,000-tonne vessel at Cheongjin Shipyard on May 21, which quickly went awry due to an unfortunate blunder during the launch process.
He lambasted the occurrence as a "serious accident that could not have happened, could not be tolerated," and branded it as a "criminal act caused by pure carelessness, irresponsibility and unscientific empiricism."
The North Korean leader made it abundantly clear that those responsible for the blunder, including high-ranking officials from various state and party institutions, would face severe repercussions, the Mirror US reports.
Kim Jong-un has issued a stern warning that those accountable will face repercussions when the ruling party's Central Committee convenes next month, declaring they will "not avoid being dealt with."
He underscored that the restoration of the destroyer is not merely about fixing a vessel but is also tied to the revival of national pride.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Welp. To quote Jusas Priest: “Some Heads are Gonna Roll”
And some bodies are gonna have a big hole blown in 'em.
Responsible person followed immediately thereafter
What was the blunder that caused it to sink?
Cue up “Let the bodies hit the floor”.
Commies rewrite title…. North Korea’s newest submarine goes on first dive, it will test limits of endurance under water!
Not to worry; after several tries that got it right with the Hunley.
I read somewhere he likes to execute people with an anti-aircraft gun, so the victims are basically turned into red mist.
Sounds like the Vasa. Ego got in the way of the engineers telling you “no, you can’t do that”.
Almost as funny as when the Israeli hackers sank the Iranian frigate Sahand in port.
Pride of their fleet — sank TWICE — on the dock.
Apparently, the Israelis seized control of the computer system and messed with its ballast.
A bwahaha moment
It’s very hard to make 5000 tons of steel float.
Kim will probably have those responsible killed with an anti-aircraft gun.
....”Judas”....?
Whoever is responsible will be executed. Chairman Kim will not tolerate such blunders. And in North Korea, the families of those responsible will suffer too. In their system, entire families are punished for transgressions, not just the individuals who committed the crime.
somewhat extreme to be sure....but at least there is accountability and consequences for criminal incompetence as opposed to DC
Probably would have contributed to rising sea levels, anyway. /s
