BOY PROBLEMS Young men are struggling, and we wanted to figure out just how badly and why.

Boys enter kindergarten lagging behind girls in both academic readiness and behavior. A majority of teenagers agree that boys are more disruptive...girls get better grades, have more leadership roles and speak up more in class.

A bar chart shows the results of a survey of teenagers: 64 percent say boys are more disruptive in school, 27 percent view girls as more like leaders, and 78 percent believe teachers have no gender preference for favorites.

In interviews, young men say that school never felt like a good fit for them, or that they got the sense that teachers didn’t like boys, and that this left them feeling discouraged or undervalued. By high school, girls are more likely to graduate on time — and more likely to go to college.

A line graph showing college attendance rates from 1960 to 2022. Women’s attendance increased from below men’s to 66 percent in 2020, while men’s attendance was at 57%.

Young men are struggling in their mental health and transitions to adulthood, too. What’s going on here? I’m reporting a series on boys, the first installment of which published today. I’d love to hear your experiences... Tell The Times what you think here. — Claire Cain Miller

From the article title: BOY PROBLEMS Young men are struggling, and we wanted to figure out just how badly and why.

The owners and staff of the New York Times lie - they know exactly why.

Our society caters to men,all the time..

and to understand why young boys and young men aren't keeping up,look at their fathers, the ones who support the billion dollar porn industry and the same ones that sit on their fannies when their dtrs are forced to compete athletically against males...

we have few men and we wonder why the boys are falling behind?

Imagine the shrill outrage if a man wrote an article about young women, yet Claire Cain Miller is going to tell NY Slime readers all about young men.

Plenty of blame to go around. You and I may disagree on primary cause of the problem. For me, about 60 years of unchecked feminism has ruined a big percentage of women and has also had a hugely negative effect on a big percentage of men. I think the bad women came first and caused the decline in quality we see in men.

If we lived in a patriarchy, paternity fraud would be a crime.

Andrew Tate is nasty!

Horrible influence for boys or girls.

Respect should be given to everyone, and our culture should teach that to our young.

Whaddaya know? Boys misbehave more than girls and men commit more violent crimes than women. Our culture needs to deal with both instead of merely letting it happen.

...the same ones [fathers] that sit on their fannies when their dtrs are forced to compete athletically against males...

No one is forcing young women to compete against transvestites. They're free to walk away uninjured.

Nice how you only blame fathers. Where are the mothers stopping it? They're boss babes who "don't need no man." Surely they would stop it for their daughters.

Heterosexual bad! Alphabet good!

No kidding. Yet most of us go about our daily lives without being affected by that crap.

The trends for boys and young men in the article ARE worrisome, though.

We have some of that in our family. Our two eldest are girls and both are doing well (late 30s). Our youngest is our son (mid-30s) and he still struggles to find himself, get “launched,” and really get going.

3rd, 4th or whatever generation feminism needs to be stood up against—but not by goons like Tate.

Respect is not given. It's earned. Teaching our young to respect someone who hasn't earned it is futile at best, more likely a contributor to cognitive dissonance and a life of being a sheep.

It was a given back then that boys should early on start acquiring skills they would need to be soldiers..

+++++++++++

A very astute observation. Every generation needs to have capable men to be the backbone that provides for the nations protection. Through the military is a good option as long as it is not run by Rachel Levine or Milley.

Goon? That's what feminists call him.

The truth stands, regardless of the source. Don't shoot the messenger.

Withholding respect until someone has proven having earned it is a disastrous formula for any society. And what about inherent human (and holy) worth?

Militant Feminism has been working hard to destroy the role of the Male in society... or corrupting it as we see in the “Thug Life” Culture.

A Feminized Society is more likely to approve of Socialism and the “security” it promises... but never delievers.

They simply need decent (not perfect) fathers in their homes and present in their lives.

No replacement no excuses no going without. Fathers are essential.
