2001: A Space Odyssey. Instead of a monolith imagine it as a Crucifix instead. Then the confusing parts make sense.

“I even made a pilgrimage to the apartment building In San Francisco where some of the scenes were shot”

Ha. Agnes Moorehead is perfect in that role.

That’s a great Tom Cruise underappreciated classic, as well as LIVE DIE REPEAT. At least it should have been called that, instead of EDGE OF TOMORROW.

After the TV success they filmed new scenes and expanded scenes cut down for TV.

It was then released in theaters.

Dittos on “Second Hand Lions”. I only watched it the first time because a coworker owned several of the horses used in the movie. It went on to become a favorite.

I noticed “The Wizard of Oz” is on several lists. My favorite version is the one from 1925 starring Oliver Hardy before he teamed up with Stan Laurel. I also like the 1939 version even though the ending is a copout—which disappointed me when I first saw the movie in 1959.

Yeah, Jaws today looks dated with the effects etc.

But it was extremely well done for the time in how they built suspense, looking up from below and seeing the people in the water, etc etc etc.

The original Sheriff, the crazy skipper, and the nerdy scientist (cast) in Jaws did a really good job IMHO. They helped make the movie.

“The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”

Absolutely amazing soundtrack!

Flat out classical music that was written for the movie and does an extremely good job at conveying the mood of the scene.

Glad to see “The Music Man” get a mention.
Glad to see “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure” get a mention.
How about “No Country For Old Men?”
How about “Vanishing Point”?
and, “Missouri Breaks”?
and “Brazil”?

My god you define “good” by emotional BS. It’s not about your emotions. It’s about cinematic and artistic skills. Skill, talent, intellect, not your fee-fees.
