I am struck by the overall contrarian nature of this thread.
You have reported that you saw something today which you had not seen before.
People are quick to say that THEY have seen it before.(So apparently you are wrong.)
People are quick to say that THEY have seen something different than what you saw, but it’s sort of like what you saw. (So apparently you are wrong.)
People are quick to say that some locations carry the item although you may not shop there, so you may not know. (So apparently you are wrong.)
But I for one find it interesting that you saw something new at the locations where you usually shop, and that this may indeed represent some influence of RFK jr and a potential growing trend for companies to market healthier items to the public.

........
Thank you!
Exactly.
As a matter of fact several people in line at our store spoke about it. Most stated that it was about time the smaller size was available.
There’s no great shame in being wrong. It happens. Especially when you’re talking about the relatively random and highly personally influenced event of seeing some random product at a store. Like I can’t remember the last time I laid eyes on a bucket of cottage cheese (I’m assuming it still comes in those little buckets), but I recognize that’s because I think cottage cheese is gross and would never buy it. So my brain has just edited it out. I’m sure I actually I pass it all the time, it might even be near something I do buy, but I don’t want it so it’s just “stuff I ain’t getting”. The human brain is very good at editing out things you aren’t interested in. At least I’m assuming cottage cheese still exists. Maybe it ceased. That would be good.
So I have no doubt at all the little bags were there the whole time. Maybe not placed as prominently. Or maybe ignored by a brain that had no interest in little bags of chips. No big deal.
The important questions - did people buy them, and buy only one?
When I was a kid if my dad took us to the market he’d grab a bag of chips and open it up first thing. We’d all munch on chips as we walked the aisles loaded the cart. He’d pay for the bag of course, but it was always a little surprising. Mom never did that.
