Sammy the Bull Gravano gives his life to Christ. Baptism at end. Beautiful.

They called me Sammy the Bull. Yeah, that Sammy. I ran with the streets, led one of the most powerful crime families in America… but none of that gave me true peace 🕊️.

I always believed in God but this time, it was different. This time, I surrendered ✝️.

From the shadows of organized crime to stepping into the waters of baptism, my journey is one of redemption, hope, and God’s relentless love. In this powerful testimony, I open up about the pain, the struggle, the doubts, and the moment everything changed.

If you’re searching for hope… if you feel too far gone… I promise you—you’re not. 🙌 God’s grace is BIGGER than your past. I’m living proof. 💯

Saying that sins are “washed away” is a metaphor for forgiveness, not for a retroactive changing of the fact of Galvano’s terrible crimes.

In modern thinking, purgatory is not a place but a process of purification as the dead purge themselves of sins unforgiven and unatoned for during life. That is a key reason why we pray for the dead, to aid them after they have died in purging such sins.

I grew up with and among gangsters. I feel bad to tell you that they are the biggest con artists and will run a con or scam until the day they die...especially if it puts them in the limelight for another 5 minutes

I’ve not known one... that wasn’t in the spotlight looking for attention ...that ever said or did any of this..or EVER repented or showed regret.

Cosa Nostra is their LIFE.

They don’t break down and repent like Michael corleone in the godfather iii.

They live and die by THIS THING OF OURS.

John Gotti was a monster but at least he was real until the end.

Sammy’s a lying con artist..desperate for attention.

Happy Easter

If I had to pay for my own sins that would be the worst news I could ever hear ...

Same.

I don’t think God says repent and all is forgiven.

Matthew 12:31-32
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Acts 3:19
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

As do we all. But the blood of Jesus is stronger than the worst sins.

Your experience was with the NY mob.
Mine is with the Outfit.

Complete and separate entities.

Equally ruthless and dishonest, maybe more. If it had not been for Tony Spilotro, that organization might have went for a little while longer. As you know, Tony got attention. So the ant had to go.
By then it was late. That is the difference with them. Somebody like Gotti would have disappeared like the ant did. Them boys in Chicago knew they better keep low or else. Tony the ant took the whole outfit down right with him.

Another one was Sam DeStephono (sp). He drew attention and ended up with his head half blown off and one arm blown off.

Mad Sam was another one who didnt know to keep low.

Redemption/salvation from sins is by Grace by profession of faith in what Christ did to purchase our pardon and pay our eternal punishment for sin and all sin we do. Sammy was very fortunate he accepted The Lords's offer and had a last opportunity to do so and wisely did so. It is not wise to gamble and say to ones self I'll accept Christ before I die. You may not have that chance.

Folks in the Justice of sin a lie is as bad as murder. You break one commandment you stand guilty for breaking them all and stand condemned to hell unless you accept Christ and repent.

Only GOD knows if his profession of faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is/was genuine. If so then yes he met the requirements of salvation.

Now, this however does not pardon or relieve him of the earthly consequences of his actions. Jesus Christ can and will remove sin and desire to sin when we pass from here into the next world as sin will not enter heaven.

Over half the New Testament was written by a man who hunted down Christians and either had them killed or placed in prison. Jesus had other plans for him {Paul}. The Bible recognizes and separates Biblical sin and it's required punishment and the punishment of the governing authorities. Two thieves were hung beside Jesus. One repented and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior the other did not. They both suffered the penalty of earthly punishment. We who believe are offered Grace for past, present, and future sins, until we are dead. But we also still live under government. What I am saying is this. Jesus pardoned the repenting thief but the Roman law condemning him for his crime stood.

Thank you. Agree with most if not all of your post. David is a good example of how his grievous sin affected him the rest of his life. He wrote the Psalms , pouring his heart out saying his sin is ever before him.

But he found grace and hope in the Lord who says he will remove our sin as far as east is from west and bury them in the ocean if we confess and repent.

And yes there is no guarantee about tomorrow. Scriptuer says TODAY is the day of salvation. There is guarantee I will be alive in an hour even.....Amen.

It might interest some to know (or piss people off) that Jeffrey Dahmer is also in Heaven.

The man who killed/raped/ate/etc. 17 men repented of his sins and was baptized while in prison.

“If scumbags like Sammy the Bull can get salvation it has no value. He is personified evil.”
__________________________________

The smallest, least offensive to any person (sin) you have done in your life is no less than the most terrible Sammy the Bull has done via the Blood of Christ.

It may not make sense, and it surely doesn’t have to make us comfortable.

Only one sin is not accepted by the LORD God: Often called Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, or Rejection of the Holy Spirit. That is to refuse to accept the LORD God’s grace and truth.

I get so angry (daily) and ashamedly, I might add and must remind myself the smallest sin I have ever done is as great as any that drove the Thorn in the forehead of Christ.

It’s not to say we may not have justified anger, just that it’s a very slippery slope.

I do believe in the justice of mortal man, up to and including the death sentence.

“In Catholic Church teaching my understanding is there’ll be som considerable time and reparations in purgatory in a case like this”
____________________________________________

The particular belief written of is often considered in the category of ‘of Angels dancing on the head of a pin.’

Disclaimer: I was raised in the Catholic Church. Christ was not put forth in any particular Catholic Church as what He is: Savior. I will accept it was in the late 60s and early to mid-70s when the Catholic Church was really rampant.

In the many talks/dealings/discussions I had with priests they would always say man still had to make amends. I would ask them the ‘why’ of it when the Blood of the Lamb was for the atonement. Either as the sacrifice in the Old Testament it was complete, or it was not and if so, not a true sacrifice as in the Old Testament. This is not to say the LORD God overlooked the physical reactions caused by sin, for which He most assuredly did not.

That’s when the ‘Angels dancing on the head of a pin,’ part of the belief system would come into discussion.

The ‘Angel’s’ point would also be brought out when the subject of babies passing prior to baptizing. Priests, nuns, non-Catholics would often wonder why mothers of stillborns and babies who passed prior to baptizing would go insane.

It’s not a wonder: After being told your child would be separated from the wonderous Light of the LORD God and His Son and Holy Spirit.... because it wasn’t baptized before passing...?

There are many traditions (man-made, not God instructed) within the Catholic Church that can both keep Catholics miserable and keep Catholics focused on traditional acts and not the True faith of Jesus as LORD and Savior.

I don’t doubt there are millions who love and accept Jesus Christ as their LORD and Savior in the Catholic Church. May the LORD God keep them in the palm of His hands.

I thought Godfather III was as terrible as they said.

I didn’t see it when it was first originally released. I saw it a couple years or so after. I just knew the critics were correct when I saw the very opening of the movie. It started with flashback scenes from the first 2 Godfather films. A whole 15 minutes worth.

They seemed to realize this was an artistic mistake when they re-edited the film (Coda) and the flashback scenes were removed.

And that helicopter assassination attempt. Typically overblown Hollywood version of a mob hit. The miscasting of Coppola’s daughter. Evidently this came about because the original actress hired for this role, Winona Ryder, a much better actress, had to pull out at the last minute. Coppola defending his decision to cast his daughter was because it was difficult to find a replacement at the last minute. Hollywood is filled to the brim with thousands of out of work actresses who would have jumped at the chance to play a lead in a Coppola film.

I agree with you the most troubling problem with the script was the helicopter scene.

It didn’t fit the literacy that characterized the first two.

In reflection it seems they were trying to get the same effect of Michael in grave danger and fleeing Cuba when Batista fell.

It didn’t work.

As far as the criticism of casting Coppola’s daughter, I always thought that was a bit sexist.

She may not been an Italian or a Sicilian beauty as was Michael’s first wife, but she like Talia Shire was authentic Italian.

In that vein, I thought Andy Garcia was miscast as he just didn’t have that ethnic Italian gangster flavor as did the casting of the Godfathers or Scorsese’s mob films or the Sopranos for that fact.

But in fairness James Caan was not Italian either and that casting was spot on.

Same place breaking off from the Catholic Church and attacking it for the ensuing millennia is.

Asking a simple question is attacking the Catholic church?

Wow. Sensitive much? It was a legit, genuine question. Lighten up, Francis.
