That’s okay. That cheap stuff never lasts more than a year other than “Roborock “ vacuums.
At any rate we are their biggest customer, and if they want to avoid financial collapse they are going to need to adjust their expectations going forward. Otherwise, S. Korea, Vietnam and a host of other nations can easily fill China's shoes, along with increased domestic manufacturing in the US.
Xi and Trump might have to *gasp* negotiate.
I believe that USA sales to China are 3.6%? Is that correct? WHO gets hurt?
You mean less cheap. Made in the USA coming back!!!
China isn’t used to resolve from America. If China chooses to keep the trade war going, the result will be minor irritation for the American consumer, while Chinese companies watch their warehouses fill with unsold cheap crap.
I’ll be sad to not to see any more chinesium metal. /s
What’s next?
China loses their biggest market: the U.S.
So...we cant do without smart phones or video games and cheap junk batterys?
We cant make them here?
WHAT..IN..THE?!
Be best if we go through a depression.
Learn the hard way we dont need that garbage.
We stop buying the cheap crap our landfills with breathe a sigh of relief
China’s economy is a house of straw.
We can live without plastic crap.
When dealing with the Chinese government, never ever forget that they are less rational than a 13 year old girl. They are petulant, they care only about appearances, and they care nothing about their nation or its people. Act accordingly.
Explain us this..
Is it so bad that up to now, there is just about ONE TRILLION DOLLARS..of investment of companies coming back home.
ONE FRIGGAN TRILLION!
And increasing.
Aside from that. I wonder what is being reinvested into the UK? The EU?
concern trolls disguised as libertarian loons.
That’s the thing about thew Chinese. They are convinced in their national mind that they are better than everyone else in the world. They have a superiority complex greater than any country in the world.
I believe Apple has already started moving iPhone production to India. Perhaps India and others will take even more manufacturing away from China.
I had an interesting chat with ChatGPT about China. Their population decline. The suspicion there’s not really 1.4B of them. Their real estate market is collapsing. Youth unemployment is high, can’t afford to have kids. Domestic Foreign Investments have plummeted 80% since Trump. The tariffs are a sledgehammer to their economy, not to ours (even if it hurts a bit)...with Vietnam, India, Mexico, ..., all ready to take over manufacturing. Vietnam is already booming.
I’ve no idea just how true it all is...but is an interesting read.

Both sides are prepared to wait this out.
This “trade war” with China is just part of much larger “Cold War” which has moved to a new level.
What’s next? Hopefully, the end of the CCP.
IMHO, Pres Trump is TOO focused on getting things "fair" ASAP, and hoping that it works out in the long run... rather than looking at this very small 2-year window of opportunity that he has to repeat his economic success in Term I.
And I continue to be appalled at the Congressional GOP doing NOTHING to advance and secure the Trump agenda in the Legislative Branch. We need to Primary out EVERY Republican in DC that fails to openly push for actual votes on the floor for bills that cements lower taxes and less spending for the long run.
