We can do without it. Most American homes are overflowing with Chinese (etc) goods to the point that no one parks in their garage, and every neighborhood has a storage facility nearby for all the junk that won't fit in people's houses. A materialism diet would do some good.

At any rate we are their biggest customer, and if they want to avoid financial collapse they are going to need to adjust their expectations going forward. Otherwise, S. Korea, Vietnam and a host of other nations can easily fill China's shoes, along with increased domestic manufacturing in the US.

Some cities have large organized swaps like ski equipment swaps or baby equipment swaps. All the stuff that’s in garages and storage units could be re-sold or given away. We really don’t need to buy much of anything.

We also need to make sure that those countries are not exporting Chinese company products to us to avoid the tariffs.
